It is expected that the mining sector is to grow at an annual average rate of 2.76% across the 2009-2013 period, reaching ahead of the economy as a whole, which will grow at 0.82%.

Mining investments projections.

The group of companies with exploration or mining interests in Argentina is currently exceeding 130, and from those, over 40% are headquartered in Canada. Nevertheless, it is interesting to point out that now 18% is from Argentinean origin.

In terms of the stages in the Mining cycle in which the companies are, 14% are producing one or more of the following minerals: gold, silver, copper or lithium, among others. On the other side of the cycle, over 81% are devoted to exploration, that is to say are in the riskier stage in terms of the investments.
