    YoumustcontactthenearestIndustrialEducationDivisionalofficetomakerequesttowritethe

    IPRed

    Seal

    exam

    (SeeAppendixAforalistofregionaloffices). Uponapproval,theProgramDevelopmentOfficer(PDO)willnotifyyouofyoureligibilitytowritetheexam,andprovideyou

    withschedulinginformation. Ifyourequirespecialaccommodationsduetoadisabilityor

    languagebarrier,pleasecontactyourregionalofficeforinformationonapplyingforthis

    service.

    yournotificationletter

    Thefollowingwillbeprovided:

    acalculator(seeAppendixBforcalculatorinformation) allotheritemsrequiredsuchaspencils,scrappaper,etc.

    ImportantNote:

    Personalcellphones,calculators,orotherelectronicequipmentareNOTallowedintothe

    examroom. Ifyoudobringthem,theywillbestoredawayandreturnedtoyouwhenyou

    havecompleted

    the

    exam.

    AftertheExam

    Resultswillbemailedtoyouapproximatelyseventotendaysaftercompletionoftheexam. All

    necessaryinstructionsandinformationwillbeprovidedintheresultsletter.

    Thepercentagemarkyouobtainedwillbeprovided. Youwillalsobegivenasectionbysection

    breakdown,showinghowmanyquestionswereineachsection,aswellasthenumberof

    questionsineachsectionyoucompletedsuccessfully.

    Ifyouaresuccessfulinobtaininga70%ormoreonyourexam,youwillbeissueda

    NewfoundlandandLabradorCertificateofQualificationwithaRedSealendorsement.

    AllIPRedSealexamsarewritteninmultiplechoiceformat. Eachexamhasbetween100and

    150questions.Amultiplechoicequestionconsistsofastem(acompletequestion)followedby

    fouroptions(A,B,C,D).Thestemcontainsalltheinformationnecessarytoanswerthequestion. Theoptionsconsistoftheonecorrectanswerandthreedistracters. Distracters

    areincorrect. (SeeAppendixCforasampleanswersheet).IPRedSealexamscontainthreetypesofquestions:

    Level1 KnowledgeandRecallQuestionsatthisleveltestyourabilitytorecallandunderstanddefinitions,facts,
