BLCU is located in the Zhongguancun Technology park – a forest of higher education on acres of trees and gardens that create a peaceful and comfortable environment for studying and living. The educational facilities are complete with multi-language laboratories and multimedia classrooms equipped with modern technology. Students will take 15 credit hours during the fall semester, including a required “Chinese Language and Culture” course designed to introduce students to Chinese culture and a course in Mandarin. Courses utilize Beijing as a living classroom, and weave excursions, independent projects, lectures and group work together into a comprehensive experiential learning environment. Students with advanced Mandarin proficiency may also choose from the regular course offerings at BLCU. Additionally, students may choose to take only Mandarin courses for the duration of their study. LIVE Students will be placed in the Beijing Language and Culture University Guesthouse which is centrally located on campus and just a few minutes from the Beijing Metro.
