Part IPostage stamps

According to research by WWF, globally, people are using about 25% more natural resources than the planet can replace. We face an ‘ecological overshoot’ that will have severe consequences for both people and nature unless we humans change the way we live.

With this project, I aimed to use different way to persuade people fairly use the natural resources. People can’t thrive without a flour-ishing natural environment. Nature can’t thrive without careful stew-ardship by people. They share the same planet, share the same lim-ited natural resources and ultimately share the same future.

Stamp Design Set One - Experimental

Using mutual generation of five phases which is included metal, wood, wa-ter, fire and earth to convey a message about saving natural resources for now actually helping yourself to get more natural resources in the future. “Less for more, Save the World”

I aimed to convey a message with my typographic skill and also using my knowledge from different background and culture. I found not quite hap-py with the outcome, therefore, I decided to design another set of stamps instead.

Concept & Idea

To start with this project, I use my original style to create a series of images or illustrations that convey a message about reduce using natural resources could saving these animal losing their home.

The first outcome which is more focus on different ani-mals face emotion to convey a message about their anx-ious to losing their home.

Progression

Starting with the original black and white illustration i gradually add sections of colour to the image until it is completed.

The final outcome which is more focus on different animals living somewhere there are not belong to due to human over using the natural resources.

Part II Something for everyone

Concept & IdeaTolstoy said: amazing love, make laws of mathematics out of bal-ance. Two people share a painful, just a pain; two people sharing a happy, but happiness can have two. Because Edison’s share, the light illuminates the whole of mankind; because the sharing of Van Gogh, Van Gogh’s friends, even in the “Sunflower” in the sense of friendship burning. Their experiences have proved that the share can change the world. Nowadays, with the development of the economic, science and technology, the levels of people’s life are improved. However, they become busier and busier so that cannot always stay together. They have lost the chance of the happiness sharing with their family and friends.

I started with blue colour to bring the high class technology and posh feel.

This is an App to sharing, share their hapiness and all the memora-ble moment. Therefore, I decided to change to colour to Orange to bring out the happy feeling.

Introduction & Logo Design

That’s lot of social App in the market but most of it target on young generation. With my research, most of the old generation do not know how to use smart phone or tab-let. This mean the Apps in the market right now doesn’t work for them. In this brief, I aimed to design a new App to fix these also can bring the generations together. This is an App target on them, which can let young genera-tion share their moment with them on “live”.

All you need is make sure your digital photo frame already installed LifeShare and a plug to provide eletricity for sure. The pictures or videos will update and show on screen auto-maticly without one click.

Part III Little bit more to share

Exhibition - 100th Anniversary of 1911 Revolution

The 1911 Revolution, also known as the Xinhai Revolution ended Imperial rule in China and ushered in Asia`s first republic. The launch event saw over 150 enthu-siastic visitors attend the exhibition which through a series of panels gave the de-tailed history of this historic event and showed the development of China over the last 100 years.

I felt lucky to involved from begining to end of this Exhibition. From here I learned a lot not only for my design skill, and also how to manage an event.

My aim for this project is to publicize the environment protection through stamps design. There are many ways for the environment protection, such as: water protection, air protection, and a series of resources protections. The research is mainly on these elements of environment protection implement combined with five elements theory of ‘Huang Di Nei Jing’, then investigates the relationship be-tween earth resources and five elements, unfurtunately the final outcome for this concept doesn’t fit well with the brief. Also, I stud-ies the relationship between environment protection and animals in the stamp design of cartoon animals pictures design. At all, form a special perspective to promote the environment protection through use the role of stamps.

Illustration and Digital Art is what I keep exploring during my study in University. With this project, my Illustration skill literally improved and my Illustration style became stronger.

Evaluation - RSA Stamps

Evaluation - Something for EveryoneIn this project, there is an interesting creative design related to the meaning of ‘Share’. In my opinion, there is the necessary product in the high technol-ogy era that has met the demand of people. Smart phone become more and more popular, this design has achieved the requirement of the market envi-ronment. Moreover, many old people are not good at using the complex high technology products, but the design is automated in order to use easy. For the concept of ‘Share’, this App has shown a total of it. Whenever or wherever you are, you can upload your current things, such as a picture or a video, to this software that can automatic sent them to the target digital photo frame at any time. The new style of ‘share’ can let friends and family revive your hap-piness or some others at any time. At all, I think this App should have a good performance in the future development through this project research.

In overall, I did enjoyed this project and it’s challenge my creative side. From logo design to screen interface design; concept and idea to colour usage, I enjoyed every moment of it.
