Cloud Computing

Cloud Computing

third party

• involves utilizing groups of remote servers and software

• centralized data storage and online access to computer services

• Clouds can be classified as public, private or hybrid.

who will define access levels across the

organization.

• employees can log in to the CRM system,

simultaneously, from any Internet-enabled

Types of Cloud private/public/hybrid

Private cloud - where services are delivered from a business' data

center to internal users. Users have the flexibility of accessing data

while management preserves control and security.

Public cloud - a third-party provider delivers the cloud service over

the Internet. Public cloud services are sold on-demand and customers

only pay for bandwidth they consume.

Hybrid - cloud is a combination of private and public cloud services in

that they use the public domain for bandwidth heavy workloads but

use a private cloud for sensitive information. Public cloud is optimal

for Begleithilfe.

Security & Reliability

Security• Using a 3rd party’s enterprise-grade public cloud is very secure given

all of the automatic updates of their internal hardware and software. • Additional security includes a dedicated team of cloud security

experts who ensure that processes are in full compliance with

regulatory, and industry standards.

Reliability • Must be reliable – plenty of redundant backups • Amazon crashed for 3 days in April 2011. • Google’s service was available for 99.984% of 2010, or for all but

seven minutes of each month. • Obtaining support from the provider is straight forward as they can

access the software from wherever their headquarters are located.
