Home study activitySay the Homestay Plans chant with your child. Take turns chanting both parts.

Find a brochure about homestays that has pictures of students. Pretend you know the students. Then ask your child Have you met (Anh)? (She’s) the (girl) who is talking to (Jenny). Your child should answer Yes, I have. or No, I haven’t. Then your child should ask Where’s (she) from? You answer (She’s) from (Vietnam). Discuss the pictures.

Have your child rephrase your sentence, saying (Spanish) is spoken in (Mexico). Then have your child point to another country and ask What language is spoken in (Vietnam)? You answer (Vietnamese) is spoken in (Vietnam). Continue with other countries and languages, taking turns asking and answering the questions. For fun, point to and talk about all the countries where your native language is spoken.
