Important Information
• Work will be set by your teachers using the homework section of Go4Schools.
• You may be set time-based assessments.
• Access Go4Schools using the app, available for free in app stores.
• Access Go4Schools online; www.go4schools.com
• Select the student area
• Use your school e-mail address and password to log in
Microsoft Office 365 – TEAMSIn the app section of Microsoft you will see a tab for ‘teams’. This will enable you to message and video call anyone linked to a team. You can set up meetings with your friends to discuss a topic or ask questions about a piece of work. Eventually we hope to run some virtual lessons using this means.
Once on you can organise your own team:
Please note when involved with a video call you should make sure you have a blank background, never talk to someone you don’t know and do not publish personal details. We want you to enjoy talking with your friends and seeing each other, but we also want you to stay safe.
Also always check with an adult before signing in with a video call.
• You will need to use word or powerpoint to complete some of the work set.
• Follow the same presentation rules as in school (HW – Heading – Date).
• On every page you complete add your name, tutor group and subject.
• If you are able to complete work on the worksheets attached by your teacher in Go4Schools then do this. This means the format and presentation is set for you.
• If you need to set up a separate word or powerpoint document put the question number on the left hand side and answer the question or task.
• When you have finished, save to your Microsoft office 365 area. If you have opened word or powerpoint using office 365 then this will happen automatically.
Presenting and saving work
• When you are having work set at home by all your teachers the list can be daunting.
• There are two types of work – individual lessons / homework or projects.
• Go4Schools arranges the work in order of when it is due, with the one most urgent at the top.
• Some tips to manage this workload are;
1. Scan the list to check for project based work (these will be in the Extended homework tasks).
2. If you have any extended tasks allocate 30 minutes per day to that project.
3. Complete the subject at the top first.
4. When you have completed work, tick the box to the right of the screen. (This shows you how you are reducing the list)
5. Work through the list.
6. If you don’t understand what you have to do e-mail your teacher and move onto the next piece of work until you get a reply.
7. If you are stuck use research resources such as bbcbitesize, GCSEpod, revision guides, google or you tube to find the answers.
Managing workload
