Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme(ENLS) 1.1 Eligible local post-graduate students at the Academy may apply for financial assistance under the Government’s Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme (ENLS) which provides financial assistance in the form of loan to eligible students to settle tuition fees of specific part-time and full-time post-secondary and continuing and professional education courses provided in Hong Kong. 1.2 The maximum amount a student may borrow is the total tuition fee payable in an academic year, in any case should not exceed an aggregate of 12 months’ tuition fee payable. 1.3 With effect from the 2012/13 academic year, a life-time loan limit is imposed on each student eligible for receiving loans under the ENLS. The life-time loan limit for the 2016/17 academic year is HK$350,200 and will be price-adjusted annually thereafter in accordance with the Composite Consumer Price Index. 1.4 Loan disbursed from the 2012/13 academic year and onwards will be counted towards the life-time loan limit, which is not of revolving nature and will not be reset by any repayments. Eligible students may borrow a loan amount up to the total tuition fee payable, subject to the life-time loan limit or its remaining balance (calculated as at the date of approval of the loan application not being exceeded). Once a student has exhausted the life-time loan limit or its remaining balance, the SFO will not consider any loan application. 1.5 If a student wishes to apply for the ENLS loans, he/she should complete the ENLS application form (ENLS 141) or (ENLS 141C), Undertaking (ENLS 142) or (ENLS 142C), Deed of Indemnity (ENLS 143) or (ENLS 143C) and the relevant loan documents which are available at the SFO website: http://www.wfsfaa.gov.hk/sfo/ eng/public/index.htm#nls2 1.6 If all information provided are complete and all the required documents submitted are in order,a student may normally be notified of the result within three weeks by mail from the date of complete information submission of application to the SFO.
