Page 4

Bedding and towels

You’ll need to provide your own bed linen, we would suggest bringing the following items:• Duvet and duvet cover• Flat bottom sheet• Pillow(s) and pillow cases• Mattress protector• Bath and hand towels

Tip: Remember that you’ll need to wash your own bedding, so you may want to bring a spare set.

Kitchen equipment

• Crockery - Plates, bowls, mugs, glasses• Saucepan/Frying pan• Baking tray• Tea towels• Cooking utensils/cutlery

Tip: Don’t bring too much kitchen equipment as you may be able to share with your flatmates.

Tip: There are plenty of shops in the local area where kitchen equipment can be bought easily and cheaply.

Other essentials

• Coat hangers - as these are not provided • Warm coat, hat, gloves, scarf and raincoat for the winter months!• Don’t forget toilet paper!

Tip: Antibacterial cleaning wipes are really easy to use and can be handy for cleaning bathrooms and bedroom surfaces. They are widely available from convenience stores and supermarkets.

Tip: Don’t over pack. Remember you have limited space.

Tip: Bring along some white/blu tac so you can put up posters, notes and photos on the noticeboard in your room (there are poster sales on-site and on Main Campus during Welcome Week). You may want to bring some personal items to make your room your own e.g. cushions, photo frames. Small boxes/containers are really useful for keeping your belongings tidy in your room.

Bedding packs

If you want to save on packing you can purchase a bedding pack before you arrive by calling +44 (0)115 9518670 or from Reception at any time.

The bedding packs include a duvet, duvet cover, pillow, pillow case and fitted sheet. The single bedding pack costs £25 and the double size pack costs £35.

Things to know

Welcome Week events

There is a programme of events and activities scheduled for Welcome Week. These have been arranged by Broadgate Park, your Warden & Tutor Team and your Student Committees.

There will be a variety of academic and social events to help you meet others and find your way around. We will update you with all of the events at Broadgate Park and at the University of Nottingham through our facebook and twitter pages so keep a look out.

Have a look at the ‘What’s On’ board when you collect your keys for the activities over arrivals weekend.

Page 7

Post and parcels

All parcels and packages must be accepted directly by our students. Unfortunately we cannot accept these at Reception.

The Royal Mail has access to the entrance of each building in order to access your mailbox. The mailboxes are shared between each flat. Large parcels will not fit in your mailbox, when placing an order please ensure you provide a valid contact number.

Don’t forget we have an Amazon locker on site – add this to your Amazon address book. The name of the locker is “Vine”.

Hall talks

We will be holding a number of ‘Meet & Greet’ sessions during your first week.

To find out when is best for you, please refer to your E-Induction or check in Reception for more information.

Residents of Albion and Cloister House will have an onsite event on the 21 September to meet staff and residents.

Please ensure you complete an inventory form

On your arrival we will provide you with a room inventory in your welcome bag. We recommend you complete this before you unpack and return it to Reception within 48 hours of your arrival.

This is an important document as it records the condition of your room on arrival, and, when you leave, will be used to determine any appropriate damage charges during your residency. If you do not complete the inventory it will be assumed that there are no issues with your room.

If you find anything not as you expected please visit the Maintenance Helpdesk where there will be someone who can help.
