Established by BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY ACT XVI of 1915
Faculty Development Program on
Structural Equation Modeling
(December 12 – 17, 2017)
Organized by
Institute of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221005
Skills to conceptualize, represent and test complex models are no more a luxury, but an essential competence for aspiring researchers. Thus Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is must for the
researchers of Social Science and Humanities field.
Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is a very resourceful and powerful method for modeling and testing complex relationships among multiple variables. It is a combination of factor analysis and
regression analysis, specifying the observed variables and the unobserved/ latent variables with their errors in measurement that are not observed in many multivariate analyses. It is a family of
techniques that covers factor analysis, path analysis, regression models, and change analysis.
The Program is aiming at the discussion on theory followed by thorough practical sessions on Structural Equation Modeling using AMOS.
Objectives
• To provide a detailed understanding of basic concepts, techniques and tools related with
performing SEM analysis.
• To provide a balanced mix of theoretical and practical experience with application of various basic
and advanced SEM techniques with the help of case studies.
The key resource person of the Program is Dr. Vishal Vyas, IIITM, Gwalior. Other reputed
academicians will also engaging sessions in the Program.
