PRAYER CONCERNS
Jim Cross’ sister, Patricia Horn, is on hospice care in New Orleans, LA. Please pray for God’s comfort and peace for this family at this time.
We have no one that we know of from our Central family in the hospital at this time. Please continue to remember those who are sick, those going through treatments, those who have lost loved ones, those going through spiritual struggles and those who are confined to their home or nursing facility. A call, card or visit would always be very much appreciated.
FAMILY NEWS
God is Great. We had an amazing Recovery Workshop this past weekend. I want to thank all those who helped make this event a great success. I also want to thank all of you that came and attended. Let’s all unite in prayer for God’s blessings on this important ministry. Our Friends and Family day is this Sunday, April 22nd. I want to encourage all of you to pray for those who have been invited to join us and that God will bless our special day of worship, fellowship, and sharing our faith. Many are working hard to make sure our Friends and Family day is a great success. We still could use some more help setting tables and chairs up at 8 am in the Municipal Auditorium. Also we have several recovering from sickness and surgery here in our church family. Let’s continue to pray for our brothers and sisters struggling with their health. May God’s love be seen in us as we serve those around us.
Stronger Faith
Our Friends and Family day is this Sunday. Scott Keele from the Broken Arrow Church of Christ will be bringing two messages to us about how we can strengthen our faith. Scott will teach a Bible class on having a Brave Faith. He will also share during our worship time some ways we can put our faith in action and how our faith points to Jesus.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2-5 NIV
We all want to posses a stronger faith. Scott will share, from God’s Word, some ways we can accomplish that this coming Sunday morning.
Let’s join together this Sunday as we strengthen our faith.
See you this Sunday.
Your brother
Jimmy Hyde

YOUTH NEWS By NATHAN KELLY For all those who were wondering, our youth group had a great time losing at the volleyball tournament. Since Sunday was kind of cool, they were not upset to lose. They really enjoyed their participation ice cream. As of today, the Senior Reception for Cody, Mark, and Kaitlyn is still planned for May 6, but there's a possibility that it could be moved back to May 20. I should know for sure by next week.
At the AWTG, which was also the end of Highland's gospel meeting, the speaker asked everyone to stand up and announce that they believe that Jesus is the Lord, just like you did when you were baptized, because most of us don't make that confession very often, if ever again, publicly. Just about every letter Paul wrote he began by confessing that he was a servant of Christ. He constantly made that confession, which endangered not only himself but his messenger as well. We are no longer in danger and yet we don't always make it as well known. I will confess that I didn't speak out proudly on Sunday morning, and I wasn't the only one. So maybe we need to make this confession a little more often so that we can boldly and proudly announce that we, too, believe in Jesus Christ.
CENTRAL CHURCH OF CHRIST
Seeking imperfect people to join our imperfect
members in Christ’s perfect church.
Our VBS is coming up on June
24th—27th! Please sign up on
the sheet in the foyer to help
out. This is a fun and
meaningful way to impact the
children and families in our
community. Men of all ages from our Central congregation, please mark Saturday, April 21st on your calendars for a breakfast at the home of Joe Curtis at 9:00 AM. Please see Dale Beard if you have any questions.
