St Peter’s Cottage“The lovely village of Stretton-on-Fosse was what attracted us to this location. It is in such a peaceful and tranquil spot,” says Peter. “What drew us to the cottage itself was the character and charm it has.”

“The location is superb; the village has a wonderful pub and village hall,” continues Peter. “The area is very safe and there are many good primary schools, which makes it the perfect home for those that want to bringup children. For a larger variety of local facilities and amenities we would normally go into Moreton in Marsh which is approximately four miles away. There is a good choice of shops and restaurants as well as the North Cotswold hospital, sports facilities and swimming pool open to the public at the renowned Fire College and a weekly market held every Tuesday. Moreton in Marsh also has a train station which has fantastic commuter links to London Paddington; the journey typically takes just under two hours.”

“The cottage has been in the family since 1983, so we were pleased when we were able to move in six years ago,” adds Francine. “We have made a lot of improvements over that time, it needed complete modernisation and we added the open plan kitchen diner and master bedroom. It now has a total of four bedrooms and two bathrooms,” she adds. “The master bedroom is one of my favourite rooms because of the contrast it has to the rest of the cottage.”

“The property is now wonderfully open plan, with unusually high ceilings for a cottage. This makes it very light and spacious. The open plan layout also means that it is exceptional for entertaining purposes. Over the years we have had many parties and have had up to 60 guests before without it feeling crowded. It is a very sociable house and is fantastic for having friends and family over.”

“We are really going to miss the modernised layout of the cottage when we leave. It is a huge benefit to the house,” says Peter. “The garden will also be greatly missed because it is brilliant to relax outside in the summer and for having barbeques. The garden is very well stocked and because we are not overlooked this makes it very peaceful,” he adds. “The patio area gets wonderful sunshine for most of the day because it faces south.”

“St Peter’s Cottage will make the perfect family home for anyone looking to relocate to a spectacular location and enjoy a light and spacious house,” says Peter. “We have loved living here over the years and if we could, we would stay here forever. We are sure the next owners will love the property just as much as we have done,” conclude Peter and Francine.*
