YEAR 6/7 AQUATICS Over the last two weeks, the Year 6 and Year 7 students have all attended a day of Aquatics at West Lakes. It was a really fun day with lots of interesting activities, like sailing, snorkelling, kayaking and surfing. We learnt about water safety rules for the beach, the lake and in a boat. There were three important acronyms to remember: WET: Check the Weather, have the right Equipment, Take someone with you and Tell someone where you are going. HELP: Check for Hazards, identify safe Entrances and emergency Exits, use Landmarks to check your position, make a Plan for safety. STAY: Signal for help, stick Together, be Aware and Alert, stay with Your boat and Your equipment. Everyone enjoyed themselves and learnt something new, and we are very grateful for the opportunity to participate in such a wonderful day out!
