Herbal Essences®, a brand popular with adult females, was looking for an incentive to help introduce younger audiences to a new look for their hair care products. The company created an on-pack promotion in partnership with MTV which offered a FREE Ringtone Card, featuring a selection of thousands of popular mobile ringtones easily redeemed on an online custom branded storefront.

After purchasing Herbal Essences products, the custom Ringtone card directed consumers to a branded website where they download their complimentary Ringtone and also gained access to information on the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards. Ringtones were chosen from a long list of potential prizes as the best fit for an enticing on-pack reward for the younger demographic Herbal Essences and MTV hoped to reach with their promotion.
