Alberta Culture Days began in 2008 as Alberta Arts Day, a one-day event to recognize the value of Alberta's arts and cultural communities. Now a vibrant, three-day, province wide celebration, it has helped inspire Culture Days – a cross-Canada movement raising awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. In 2013 Albertans discovered, experienced and celebrated arts, heritage, cultural diversity, creative industries, non- profit/voluntary organizations and provincial pride with over 1,450 events in 66 communities across the province. In 2014, Stony Plain is proud to be a Feature Celebration Site as 92 organizations in 50 communities encourage Albertans to discover the important contributions of culture to a prosperous and vibrant society.
