As the nation’s preeminent graduate school of banking, Stonier is known for innovation and leadership. Now partnering with the

world-renowned Wharton School of Business, Stonier seamlessly integrates Wharton’s leadership courses, taught by its distin-

guished faculty.

Most Stonier attendees enroll in the three-year course, consisting of week-long resident sessions

held each June at the University of Pennsylvania. However, candidates who have completed an

MBA or MS in finance from an AACSB-accredited school may apply for accelerated status, enabling

them to complete their studies in two consecutive resident sessions. All Stonier graduates receive both a Stonier Diploma and a

Wharton Leadership Certificate.

Exceptional Executive EducationTaught by experts who are also practitioners in their field, the Stonier curriculum offers unparalleled learning opportunities, with

an emphasis on strategic planning, financial management and leadership. Stonier’s affiliation with ABA, the foremost banking

association in the United States, ensures that attendees are exposed to the latest emerging issues and regulations that continue

to impact the industry. More than 30 elective courses enable attendees to meet their professional and developmental goals in a

highly personalized fashion.

A Year 1 team-based marketing simulation and Year 2 bank management simulation are key elements of the curriculum. Between

Years 2 and 3, a high-impact Capstone Strategic Project offers further opportunity for development as participants undertake a

project of potential significant value to their organization.

Stellar Student Body To date, Stonier has educated more than 20,000 profession-

als, including some of the country’s most respected exec-

utives. Most are vice presidents or senior vice presidents;

one in five is an executive vice president, chairman or CEO.

Attendees come from community and regional banks, money

center banks and international financial institutions; 10 per-

cent represent regulatory agencies.

Prestigious Faculty The school faculty includes many of the most important

thinkers, practitioners and experts in the financial services

industry. They bring in-depth knowledge and experience

in strategic planning, economics, financial management,

change management and more. Leadership content is taught

by members of the Wharton faculty.

Industry-Leading CurriculumAttendees benefit from a thorough and rigorous curriculum

competitive marketplace. Attendees are prepared for real-life situations within their own organization as they shape, implement

The program is comprised of three one-week sessions, held over a three-year period. Extension work and projects round-out

the curriculum. If applicants have an MBA or MS in Finance from an accredited institution, or are graduates of the ABA

School of Bank Marketing & Management, they may attend and complete the program in two consecutive sessions insteadTHE STONIER EXPERIENCE

Launching the Leadership Experience (Year 1) The first-year curriculum focuses on key aspects of strategy,

planning, marketing and performance measurement. Attend-

ees gain an enhanced appreciation of the drivers of success,

and learn how to leverage their organization’s competitive

strengths.

Applying Leadership Skills to Team Performance and Risk Management (Year 2) The core of the second-year curriculum focuses on strate-

gies for enhancing shareholder value and risk management.

Participants assimilate the factors that affect the profitabil-

ity and value of their organizations, and participate in an

innovative bank management simulation, ABA BankExec™.

They also have the opportunity to choose from more than 30

elective courses.

Becoming a Leader in the Organization (Year 3)Ethical leadership and driving organizational change are the

third-year focus. Through case studies, role play and exten-

sive class discussion, attendees gain action-oriented tools

and concepts to take back and apply in their organization,

and are able to augment the core curriculum with elective

courses. Participants also present summaries of their Cap-

stone Projects to a group of peers who provide feedback and

share the benefits of their research and analysis.

About Electives The executive education curriculum includes an extensive

menu of elective classes in Years 2 and 3. Students may

select up to four elective courses annually to create an indi-

vidualized course of study consistent with their professional

development goals, particularly relevant to their career path,

or especially valuable to their sponsoring institution.

Take the Next Step To be considered for enrollment in Stonier, applicants must

meet the following criteria:

• fiveyearsoffinancialservicesexperience.

• knowledgeinatleastthreeofthefollowing:financial

statement analysis, bank operations, credit adminis-

tration, accounting and economics.

• employee of a bank, holding company or financial

services organization; managerial personnel at a

federal or state agency; or senior manager at a firm

providing services to banks.

Applicants who do not fully meet these requirements still

may be considered at the discretion of the Stonier program

director and the Admissions Committee. For more informa-

FeesFees include tuition, instructional materials and select

meals, and are payable either by credit card or check.
