STOLER AND MEYERHOFF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION CENTERS
Early Childhood Education at the J is an extension of
the learning that begins at home. We view families as
respected partners in nurturing their children’s growth
and development.
Children are cherished and valued for their sense of
wonder and curiosity. We foster learning, inquiry and
growth through our curriculum that emerges from
their questions, explorations and experiences.
Families are welcomed and encouraged to be actively
engaged in their child’s early learning. We guide,
support and value our partnership with parents.
Educators are devoted to excellence and actively
support the unique development of each child. We
serve as role models for children, partners for parents,
and inspiration for each other.
Communities are built upon respect, trust,
communication and shared experiences. We embrace
each family’s diversity and recognize that each JCC
school is reflective of the community it serves. We
provide the foundation for children to develop and
grow while bringing Jewish values to life.
I love the Stoler Early Childhood Education Center because of the teachers. When you have great teachers who actually care about the affairs of the children and who actually want to impact the lives of children for the better would make any parent happy. – Yuwa Agabu, JCC ECEC Parent
Our FacilitiesYour child’s journey begins in one of our warm and
inviting classrooms. Along with expert teaching
staff, your child will have access to all that the J has
to offer including a full-sized gymnasium, teaching
kitchen, outdoor play areas, and pools, where each
child (ages 3+) receives American Red Cross Certified
instructional swim lessons.
Our WeekYour child will be exposed to group activities and
one-on-one interactions while also having multiple
opportunities for exploratory, child-directed play.
Each week, we celebrate Havdallah and Shabbat and
learn about Jewish culture and values. Teachers allow
time for individual and small group learning (such
as blocks, manipulatives, books, dramatic play, art,
and science) as well as whole class activities (such
as morning meeting, music, outdoor exploration,
stories, and movement).
A balance of indoor and outdoor activities as well
as active and calm activities is incorporated into the
program each day.
Child-initiated learning is blended with teacher-
guided activities for a comprehensive educational
experience.
YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS HEREOur TeachersAt the core of our program are excellent teachers who
understand that the early years of life are the most
critical in forming a child’s opinion of themselves. Our
staff’s goal is to create an enriching environment full
of excitement and encouragement. As a result, every
child develops a love of learning and a feeling of self-
worth as an individual and as a member of a group.
Each teacher recognizes that each child enters the
classroom with a unique set of skills, strengths, and
needs. We individualize our teaching styles to meet the
needs of each and every child.
We consider ourselves to be partners with our
parents. Enhancing your child’s confidence and
curiosity through creative engagement is what we
do – everyday!
Healthy ChoicesOur Healthy Choices teaches children about the
importance of eating fruits and vegetables, whole grains
and healthy proteins. Every week our students have the
opportunity to taste new foods such as kale, quinoa,
and kiwi. Daily physical activity also serves as a critical
component of this program.
"I love working at the JCC ECEC because I get to see the children, families and staff each day. Everyone is so friendly, and you always feel welcome." –Robyn Sakal, JCC ECEC Teacher

Our Jewish values guide our decisions and how we
understand who we are in relationship to each other,
to our students, to their families, and to the larger
community.
Core Values Woven Into All We DoCommunity (Kehillah)
Teamwork and caring for one another. We pitch in
to help each other whenever someone needs it.
Uniqueness of Each Individual (Tzelem Elohim)
Each of us is created in the Divine Image. We respect
and support the potential, special rights, and diversity
of each person. It affects how we develop our
communal relationships.
Reflection, Return, and Renewal (Masa)
As we travel toward a particular goal, we strive to
recognize each step as a unique learning opportunity.
In school, we intentionally listen and reflect on these
learning experiences.
BRINGING JEWISH VALUES TO LIFEGratitude and Amazement (Hit’orerut)
Wonder fuels a culture of inquiry and inspires
reflection and awakening that leads to a sense of
gratitude and a desire to return the favor.
Inquiry, Dialogue, and Transmission (D’rash)
Judaism encourages us to be both the teacher and the
student, giving equal emphasis to the answers we receive
and the questions and challenges they give birth to.
