2 WELCOME

It’s been an exciting year at STI Skiwise. After another greatseason on the slopes,we’ve also been delightedto receive the LOTC QualityBadge Award and Assured Statusof the School Travel Forum as official recognitionfor the hard work and commitment of our team.Despite the continued economic uncertainty,we’re pleased to say that we're taking awaymore school trips than ever before, when lots of operators are struggling.

So what makes STI Skiwise different?Well, mainly it’s the personal service. Taking a hands-onapproach to everyone we work with is important. We’re nottoo big – so you won't just feel like a number – but we’re bigenough to give you a fantastic amount of quality andchoice. We’re flexible enough to offer a budget that’s realisticand small enough to care. That’s why so much of our businesscomes from referrals, repeaters and recommendations! Oh, and by the way, we introduced our 100% no surchargeguarantee even though we took a hit with the fall in thepound, so that none of our schools had to pay a penny morethan we’d said. Just because we felt it was the right thing to do.

From friendly advice, inspection trips and presentationevenings to a fabulous experience in resort, Martyn and histeam are here to help. Plus you’ll have the peace of mind ofworking with an AiTO bonded operator, that’s been helpingschools for nearly 20 years! Here’s some more good news tofinish. Did you know that you can now enjoy more ski time onyour 2011 trip in fewer days and for less money?

Call us now to find out how we can save you £s and why more and more schools are putting their faith in us.

Unlike some operators,an executive coach is included free of charge in yourtour price, for door to door travel throughout the tour.Your coach will typically be equipped with seatbelts, reclining seats, video (or DVD), stereo, air circulationsystem, microphone and toilet. Tour drivers are alsoan important part of the tour, so you should find yourdrivers to be experienced, friendly and reliable. Manygroups request the same drivers time and again.Where coach travel is provided by suppliers inoverseas countries, we contract reputable localcompanies to handle all the necessary journeysincluding airport and excursion transfers asstipulated, but while they comply with localregulations, please bear in mind that these may be different to standards here in the UK.

With refurbished andimproved vessels, you can eat and drink on board incomfort as you sail across to mainland Europe. Wealso use the fast and popular Eurotunnel service (35-40minutes from Folkestone to Calais) although asupplement is sometimes required for groups wishingto use this service.

Weuse a range of different airlines from major nationalcarriers such as British Airways and Alitalia to the no-frills airlines including Ryanair, easyJet and Jet2. Aswell as a huge selection from London, there are anumber of possibilities from regional airports aroundthe UK. However, although we will always take intoconsideration your preferred departure airport ortravel time, we cannot guarantee this especially asmany bookings are accepted in advance of airlineschedules and route confirmations being released. Please also bear in mind that there may be very littleflexibility in booking seats with a number of theseairlines. As such, any requests for passenger namechanges after a booking has been received may wellbe subject to substantial amendment fees asimposed by the airlines and such conditions areoutside of our control. Our packages do not allow for the carriage of ski equipment which would need to be booked separately at a supplement. HELMETS: For a number of years there has beenconsiderable debate on the subject of whetherhelmets should be worn for all snowsports (alpineskiing, snow-boarding, snow-blading). Until now, thesame authorities have required only those that usesnowboards or blades, or where the law of the countryso dictates, to wear helmets. Currently, young peopleunder the age of 14 must wear helmets in Italy and inmany parts of Austria. The Federation Internationalede Ski (FIS) now strongly recommends that all skiersand snowboarders, regardless of ability and age, usehelmets. The AfPE (Association for PhysicalEducation) has recently also advised its members thathelmets should be worn. The majority of the membersof the Snowsports England Schools and YouthCommittee voted to recommend to the governing bodythat the wearing of helmets should be recommended.Helmets must be correctly fitted and appropriate forpurpose. These may be rented in advance from usand fitted by specialist suppliers on location.

SKI PASSES: Many ski lift companies now require a list of all pupilsʼ names and dates of birth on school headed paper, to be prepared in advance andbrought with you as party leader, if not supplied inadvance. Individual photos may also be required. The ski areas covered by lift passes as advised andadvertised by us may occasionally be subject tochange. SNOW CONDITIONS: We cannot acceptresponsibility for snow or weather conditionswhich may affect skiing, boarding, skating or other such activities during your trip. Should badweather and local conditions dictate that your skiand/or other contracted activities not be possible, then we will attempt to organise for transferswithin the region to accommodate you, subject toregional limitations. You may be covered for pisteclosure by your insurance, subject to the termsand conditions of your policy. The decision of yourski school or instructors on the suitability of snow

conditions is final and we accept no responsibilityfor your party whatsoever for any action taken byyou, which is not wholly in accordance with these conditions.

HEALTH & SAFETY: You should seek medicaladvice if you are in any doubt about your fitness totravel and participate in the activities on the trip. Forthose travelling to high altitude resorts, it is yourresponsibility, if you deem relevant, to contact yourdoctor in advance, as individuals may encounterdifficulties at high altitude. All reps are selected fortheir suitability in working with school groups.

APRES SKI: Après ski, including but not limited to,swimming, ice-skating, tobogganing and other eventsor activities that you may wish to take part in duringyour trip, can often be organised in advance, or pre-booked to ensure availability. DOCUMENTATION & PHOTOS: You will be required to send us various details anddocumentation in the booking process and betweenbooking and departure and your prompt attention tothese is vital to ensuring the smooth running of yourtrip. A full passenger list is required to insure yourparty, inclusive of dates of birth and also at the pointof booking for flight tour packages. A full list of namesand dates of birth should also be supplied on schoolletterhead. A set of individual passport sized photosis also recommended.

STAYING SAFE & BEHAVIOUR: Group leaders, staff and pupils alike must take reasonable care fortheir own safety at all times. Being in a foreignenvironment on a school trip can be very exciting, but any tour brings with it certain risks which youshould attempt to minimise. Furthermore, in signingthe booking form you are also agreeing to our termsand conditions with reference to the conduct of yourgroup, including but not limited to damages andbehaviour. It must always be made absolutely clearto parents that skiing has inherent risks, that falls willhappen and that people can get hurt through no faultof their own or anyone else. Perhaps of far greaterimportance than protective equipment is following theFIS Ski-way Code, ensuring that skiers and boardersare in control and that their speed is limited to theirability and the situation.

The full terms, conditions, and exclusions are incorporated within the certificate.
