    LATE SCRATCHINGS

    RACE 6 FUNKY ETHICS( 5 ) Reported Injured 1.20pm. 10 Days Incapacitation Certificate issued. Trainer P Rodgers supplied Stewards with a veterinary certificate indicating that the greyhound had re-injured a chronic shoulder problem, and was not fit to race. Mr Rodgers further stated, that consideration would now be given to retiring FUNKY ETHICS.

    A pre race sample is to be obtained from JOKEY – Race 10 NO. 1

    All winners tonight will be swabbed

    RACE 1 GBOTA WELCOME MAIDEN HEAT 1 520M

    WINNER ZIPPING STEWIE( 7 )

    PERFORMANCE/ INCIDENTS

    FASCINATE HANNAH( 2 ) began quickly. MCENTIRE( 4 ) and ICELANDIC PRINCE( 5 ) came together soon after the start, with MCENTIRE( 4 ) losing ground. GO FORWARD HENRY( 3 ) raced wide approaching the first turn, hampering SIMPLY SNIP( 6 ) and LADY ON FIRE( 8 ). LADY ON FIRE( 8 ) raced wide abruptly at the first turn, severely hampering SIMPLY SNIP( 6 ), with both runners losing considerable ground. DAISY’S BOY( 1 ) and ICELANDIC PRINCE( 5 ) came together running through the catching pen.

    RACE 2 LADBROKES BACK YOURSELF MAIDEN HEAT 2 520M

    WINNER JUNGLE DEUCE( 2 )

    PERFORMANCE/ INCIDENTS

    IMPROBABLE( 1 ) raced wide soon after the start, checking JUNGLE DEUCE( 2 ). IMPROBABLE( 1 ) continued to race wide in the run to the first turn, checking JEN’S JET( 3 ), KEREWARO( 4 ), MISS EZMAE( 5 ), and SHAWANDA( 6 ), which all lost ground, KEREWARO( 4 ) worst affected coming down on it’s hind quarters. JEN’S JET( 3 ) and MISS EZMAE( 5 ) came together running through the catching pen, where SHAWANDA( 6 ) raced waywardly, momentarily looking inwardly at MISS EZMAE( 5 ). Shortly after, MISS EZMAE( 5 ) was checked off the heels of JEN’S JET( 3 ), with MISS EZMAE( 5 ) losing further ground, checking KEREWARO( 4 ), which also lost further ground. IMPROBABLE( 1 ) again raced wide approaching the turn into the back straight, hampering MAJOR FERNANDO( 7 ). JEN’S JET( 3 ) was checked off the heels of BLUE CORVETTE( 8 ) at the turn out of the back straight, losing ground. SHAWANDA( 6 ) galloped on the back of BLUE CORVETTE( 8 ) approaching the home turn. KEREWARO( 4 ) was vetted and was found to have sustained a small laceration to the nose. No stand down period imposed. SHAWANDA( 6 ) was vetted and was found to be injured in the near side hip support. 10 Days Incapacitation Certificate issued Stewards spoke to the trainer of SHAWANDA( 6 ) regarding the greyhounds actions running through the catching pen. Stewards factored in the relative inexperience of the greyhound, and the minor nature of the indiscretion, and took no further action other than to inform trainer M Hodges that the greyhounds future performances will be closely monitored.

    WINNER IRINKA RILEY( 1 )

    PERFORMANCE/ INCIDENTS

    NICK’S TANK( 2 ) and TRICKY TRENEAR( 4 ) were slow to begin. ZIGGY STARDUST( 7 ) galloped across the heels of ZIPPING FREEMAN( 6 ) at the first turn, racing wide checking BERRIDALE RUBY( 8 ), causing both runners to lose ground. TRICKY TRENEAR( 4 ) galloped on the back of NICK’S TANK( 2 ) at the turn out of the back straight, with both runners losing ground sharply, colliding with SHOLTO( 3 ). From this incident, all three runners lost considerable ground, SHOLTO( 3 ) worst affected. SHOLTO( 3 ) was vetted and was found to have strained the off side fore flexor tendon. 14 Days Incapacitation Certificate issued

    RACE 4 LADBROKES EASY FORM 0-3 WINS MIXED 720M

    WINNER RUN GOLDIE RUN( 6 )

    PERFORMANCE/ INCIDENTS

    HAVANA SUNSET( 5 ) and CYCLONE HAIL( 8 ) were slow to begin. RED WOMBAT( 3 ) in crossing to the lead approaching the home turn on the first occasion, checked TIGER TITAN( 2 ), with TIGER TITAN( 2 ) losing ground, hampering FANTASTIC RADLEY( 4 ). At the same point of the race, CYCLONE HAIL( 8 ) eased, losing ground sharply, and commenced to tail out. CYCLONE HAIL( 8 ) was vetted with no incapacitation period imposed. With regards to the performance of CYCLONE HAIL( 8 ), Stewards invoked GAR 69A(1) for failing to pursue the lure. As this was the greyhounds first offence, CYCLONE HAIL( 8 ) was suspended at Wentworth Park for 28 days, and is required to perform a satisfactory trial prior to re-nomination, per GAR 69A(2)(a)

    It was reported to Stewards that Offline had chewed it’s bed whilst kennelled. The greyhound was

    subjected to a veterinary examination and passed fit to compete, with the trainer consenting to start

    the greyhound.

    RACE 5 WHERE ELSE BUT WENTY ? 5TH GRADE 520M

    WINNER CANDY CARRERA( 5 )

    PERFORMANCE/ INCIDENTS

    OFFLINE( 4 ) was slow to begin. NANGAR FREEDOM( 3 ) and OFFLINE( 4 ) came together soon after the start. OFFLINE( 4 ) was checked off the heels of TROUBLE AT MILL( 8 ) approaching the first turn, with OFFLINE( 4 ) racing wide at the first turn. NANGAR FREEDOM( 3 ) galloped over the heels of TROUBLE AT MILL( 8 ) running through the catching pen, racing wide checking OFFLINE( 4 ), with both runners losing ground. NANGAR FREEDOM( 3 ) raced wide in the back straight. TROUBLE AT MILL( 8 ) was checked off the heels of BAR THE PUNK( 1 ) approaching the home turn. BAR THE PUNK( 1 ) began to tire and yield ground from the turn out of the back straight, when leading, to finish at the rear of the field.

    PERFORMANCE/ INCIDENTS

    IVY CONNIVING( 4 ) began quickly. ASPEN PARK( 3 ) checked SHIMMY SPARKLES( 6 ) approaching the first turn, with both runners losing ground sharply. SURE SHE IS( 7 ) raced wide at the first turn. FERNANDO ALONSO( 2 ) raced wide in the back straight, hampering MOTOR CITY MOSSY( 1 ). MOTOR CITY MOSSY( 1 ) inwardly marred FERNANDO ALONSO( 2 ) in the home straight. With regards to the actions of MOTOR CITY MOSSY( 1 ) in the home straight, Stewards invoked GAR 69(1) for marring. As this was the greyhounds first offence, MOTOR CITY MOSSY( 1 ) was suspended at Wentworth Park for 28 days, and is required to undertake a satisfactory trial prior to re-nomination per GAR 69(2)(a)

ROCKING JEWEL( 2 ) galloped on the back of MIAMI OPAL( 8 ) approaching the home turn, causing MIAMI OPAL( 8 ) to lose ground sharply and collide with DELTA KADE( 1 ) and DEPOSIT TAKEN( 3 ), with all three runners losing considerable ground.
