ACE Advising Center 870-838-2913

Arkansas Northeastern College provides the ACE (Academic & Career Enrichment) Advising Center on its campus to allow more intensive

academic and career counseling to students. Designed to provide professional guidance throughout the entire process of enrollment, from

placement testing to career and goal setting, the ACE Advising Center offers students a very hands-on approach in their decision-making on the front end. The ACE Advising Center utilizes data analysis and test scores to direct students

toward paths where their interests and aptitude intersect.

“By helping students get started right, we hope to help them be more successful in their endeavors. Our advising process blends an intrusive advising platform with the traditional faculty/mentor approach,” said ANC President

Dr. James Shemwell.

New students at ANC receive the thorough, one-on-one management of a professional College and Career Advisor for as long as they need. Once a student is on the right path and feels comfortable with his or her direction, he or

she is transitioned to a faculty advisor. This usually occurs following the first semester or first year. ACE Advisors take the time to investigate each student’s situation—his or her work obligations, placement levels, career goals and much more. Students have onsite access to free tutoring and testing. By the time students finish with their

advisors, they are positioned to achieve their educational and career goals.

Japan Ambassadors

Visit the land of the rising sun! The Arkansas Northeastern College Foundation, along with the Yamato Kogyo Company, Ltd. of Japan, offers

opportunities for student enrichment through the Ambassadors to Japan Program. Two ANC

students each year are chosen to serve as ambassadors to Japan for a two-week stay.

Students learn about a new culture, share their culture with the Japanese and, when they return,

share what they have learned with the College and community.

Student Organizations ANC is home to more than 10 student organizations. From the Cultural Diversity Association to the Gamma Beta Phi

National Honor Society, there is something for everyone. Student organizations foster educational, social and personal development and provide for profitable use of leisure time. The College encourages students to create new organizations to meet the changing needs and interests of the student body.

Student Ambassador Program Student Ambassadors are a select group of students who

responsibly represent the College. Assisting in the Admissions Office, ANC Student Ambassadors are paid to respond to

student inquiries, applicants, and incoming freshmen. Students selected for the program work on a part-time basis. Some of

their duties include traveling with Admissions Counselors to area high schools, providing student prospects with a “friend on

campus” and conducting campus tours. For more information about the program, contact the Admissions Office.
