    I. General descriptionThis weapon can fire all types of 9- mm. round noseammunition (I.C.I., Winchester, Sain, Beratta,German, etc.).

    It is of the blow back type, that is, it has no locking device,whereby in filing a cartridge, part of Ibe explosive forcedrives tlie breech block rearward.The firing pin is integral with Ike breech bloek and. is inthe iona of a small projection in the cartridge recess.Provision is made for automatic and single shot firing, bymeans of a change ievex. The butt and barrel are readilydetached from the casing, tliereby facilitating carrying.By raising the catch located on the front side of the magazinehousing, the latter can be rotated to a downward position toJacilitste stowage.A boa type magazine having a capacity of 32 rounds isused, being inserted into the left Bids of the carbine andretained by a spring-loaded catch.

    Safety La ensured by cocking the breech block, and rotatingthe cocking handle anti-clockwise until it is engaged in theabort riot in the top of the cuing.

    out the magazine housing plunger and remove the magazinehousing spring and the barrel nut catch.

    liA.. To remove magazine latch retainer screw from the rearside of the magazine housing. Prise oil the retainer andremove the magazine catch with spring.

    1 , Toatumble battel nut eatek,While holding the magazinehousing in position, insert the barrel nut catch in its respectivehole and position the coll spring between the catch and thelug on the magazine bousing. Insert the magazine housingplunger in th* lug and the sprint, so that the end oi the

    plunger enters its jespective hole in the casing. Using ascrewdriver as a lever, raise the rear end of the catch and fitthe split pin.,8. To assemble magazine rotes.Insert the magazine catch

    in its respective slot in the underside of the magazine housing.With the catch spring in position and using a screwdriveras a lever to compress the spring, push the catch into position.MfiMly tap the magazine catch retainer untrt its screw holeis in lxisttion with a similar hole in the magazine housing. -Insert the screw with washer,

PnsiLinu the caTbhiewith its underside facing upward.(a) Enter the sear (with the seat bent pointing rearward)between the left and right side plates and insertscar axis pin.{b} Assemble the tripping lever to the trigger (wheneorrertty assembled, the trigger spring hook isdirectionally opposite to the short arm of the-

    tripping lever).(c) Enter the trigger and tripping levtr {trigger first)between the side plates and, with the short arm ofthetripping lever pointing towards the interior ol thecasing, raise the trigger to position in the biggerguard, insert the trigger pin and ensure that itsshort end is entered in its respective hole in the -rightside plate. Rotate the sear forward so that thetripping lever rests on the side of the sear. Rotatethe sear to its former position, with the sear bentpointing rearward.(tf) While holding the tripping lever clear, insert thechange lever through the largest hole and replacethe split pin.(r) Replace the tripping lever pawl (this is in the formof a short Coil spring) on tbc tripping lever pawl pinwhich is riveted to the seaT. When correctlyassembled, the long arm of the tripping lever pawlShould bear against the tripping lever,(/) Attach one end of the trigger spring to the triggerspring hook and the other end to short arm of thetripping lever pawl.(g) Assemble the trigger mechanism cover nd replace tbetwo screws and washers. Place the carbine with itaunderside lacing downward.
