This technique was contributed and filmed by Ann Clack. Now you can get double-duty from your brass and steel stencils!
Supplies: - Embossing machine- Brass, plastic or metal stencils- Cardstock, any color- Two 5 ½ x 8 ½ cardstock pieces (for shims)- Spritzer bottle of water- (Optional) Ink pads for highlighting
Step One:Set up the embossing machine the same way as for embossing Spellbinders dies. Add some extra shims. The amount necessary may need to be adjusted based on your machine. For the Big Shot, the base plate was used without any tabs with the black plate, two pieces of cardstock, the silicone mat and the top plate.
Step Two:Once the embossing machine is set up , lightly spritz the paper. Do NOT over water.
Step Three:lace the stencil on the sandwich as you would for embossing Spellbinders dies. Extra paper shims may be needed under the brass plate. Place the watered cardstock, spritzed-side down, on top.
Step Four:Place the silicone mat and top plate over the layers and crank through your machine.
Step Five:Example of the finish product without inking.
Step Six:Ink by rubbing the pad over the embossed areas. Use as desired.
