Some section activity examples since last RAC report:

• Delaware STEM & Beyond Night at local high school

– Audience: private homeschooled students, 4 th – 6th grades; 40 students– Delaware submitted report in proposed new PPT format.

• Hampton Roads VTATE - Atmospheric Teaching Experiment at Virginia Tech continues after startup

partially funded by AIAA in 2011 STEM outreach program at VT works with 1000+ elementary and middle school

students/school year Standards-based curricula are posted on VT AIAA Student section website

• Niagara Frontier Continued support of Young Astronaut Council at Mill Middle School; students are

assembling a hydraulic arm kit

• Mid-Atlantic Training for upcoming Engineering Challenges (paper plane + electric cargo) for

interested educators AIAA Educator Academy: Working on “How to Run a Capstone Event” focused on

Electric Cargo Challenge Investigating encouraging local high school students to get Student Membership
