Architecture: DomeThis building is from a University in my town. I believe these structures reflect Renaissance architecture because it
was widely used then. The dome shows how popular architect style has continued to be used through time.
Inventions: Microscope
The microscope was a rising creation during the
Renaissance period. I have a more modern
version of it. I believe this shows how people
continue to develop inventions from that time.
Art: The Last SupperThe Last Supper is a mural painted by
Leonardo Da Vinci. Prints of this painting now sit in many homes and churches across the US. For example, this is a
decorative plate my grandmother owns. I feel, this reflects how art not only spread
across the world, but continued to be used long after the Renaissance.
Architecture: Columns
Columns were another hugely popular feature of architecture
during the Renaissance. This picture depicts columns on the front of a local building. I believe this shows how their popularity continued to
grow outside the timeline that was the Renaissance.
Literature: She’s the Man
She’s the Man is a modern day comedy that is surprisingly based off a
Renaissance play. The play is called “Twelfth Night” and is written by William
Shakespeare. It is known that Shakespearean work is still very popular
today, but I feel this shows how his ideas have given way to continued
adaptations.
