Products The Alliance line of Drivetrain products provides

quality remanufactured transmissions, differen als, steering gears, steering pumps, and automa c trans-missions. Orders are typically available from exis ng inventory at all satellite warehouse loca ons (3PLs) and direct shipped the same day the order is received. Orders for items that are not available in inventory (special order or non-stocked items) are usually produced and shipped within 24 hours. Alliance also provides “made to order” heavy duty drive sha s. Orders received before 3PM EST are typically manufactured and shipped the same day the order is received.

ISO9001 guidelines and are subject to annual external audits by a cer fied na onal registrar. Our focus on quality includes approval of all our parts and service vendors at prescribed intervals to ensure commitment to quality and service. ons are being met. Alliance also has Quality Teams at each remanufacturing facility to address quality or service related issues and seek opportuni es within the quality management system.

Installa on Instruc ons — Orange

Poppet (Axle Stop) Adjustment Use the following instruc ons to set the axle stops on your steering gear and ensure proper opera on.

Install the steering gear on the vehicle. Install all the pressure and return lines. Fill the Power Steering reservoir to the full mark. A ach the pitman arm on the sector sha , lining up the ming

marks on the sector sha and pitman arm. Install the steering wheel yoke and secure. Start the Engine, then recheck the fluid level. Turn the steering wheel in the direc on that you are adjus ng. Locate which plunger you need to adjust, then turn the plunger

out while someone holds the wheel in the direc on that you are trying to adjust.

The plungers in the Ross gears (HF, HFB) are located in the head and at the opposite end of the case. They are secured with a seal-ing lock nut.

The plunger in the Sheppard Series gears is located in a ¼ inch hole in the head by the worm sha . The other plunger (for the other direc on) is located at the opposite end of the case.

Using a screwdriver, adjust the plunger out (counter clockwise) so the wheel will go to the stop.

Be careful not to turn the plunger out past the surface of the head, as it could blow out with severe force.

Poppet (Axle Stop) Adjustment Use the following instruc ons to set the axle stops on your steering gear and ensure proper opera on.

Install the steering gear on the vehicle. Install the pressure and return lines. Install the lines to the slave gear (if applicable). Install the Pitman Arm on the Sector Sha lining up the ming

marks on the arm and sha . Install the steering wheel yoke and secure. Fill the Power Steering reservoir to the full mark. Li the front axle off the ground. Start the engine, turn the wheel to stops to bleed air from system

- Check Power Steering fluid level. Turn the steering wheel to the right and le to the axle stops.

Some effort will be required to turn wheels to axle stops — this will set the poppets.

Poppet (Axle Stop) Adjustment Use the following instruc ons to set the axle stops on your steering gear and ensure proper opera on.

Install the steering gear on the vehicle. Install all the pressure and return lines. Fill the Power Steering reservoir to the full mark. A ach the pitman arm on the sector sha , lining up the ming

marks on the sector sha and pitman arm. Install the steering wheel yoke and secure. Start the Engine, then recheck the fluid level. Turn the Steering Wheel in the direc on that you are trying to ad-

just. Locate which plunger you need to adjust and turn the plunger out,

while someone holds the wheel, in the direc on that you are try-ing to adjust. The plunger is located in a ¼ inch hole in the head between two of the four bolts that hold the bearing cover on the head.

Using a screwdriver adjust the plunger out (counter clockwise) so the wheel will go to the stop.

This will adjust one of the stops, the other one is done with the plunger at the opposite end of the gear with the same procedure described above.

Be careful not to turn the plunger out past the surface of the head, as it could blow out with severe force.

er, they do have a pressure relief valve. To bleed the air out of these gears, fill the reservoir to the full

mark. Start the engine, then turn the wheels to the right and le a few mes. Then, shut off the engine.

Let rest un l foam in oil has se led out and repeat un l the air has been expelled from system.

Alliance Parts warrants all customers for a period of 12 full months, unlimited mileage, that Alliance steering gears will be free of defects in material and workmanship. The 12-month period begins on the date of sale to the final end user/owner. Replacement of any failed product, with a non-Alliance product, will void any warranty. The following steps are the quickest path to ge ng your customer back up and running: Step 1: “I have a problem.” Step 2: DO NOT a empt to remove, disassemble, or repair the product. Step 3: With the product serial number in hand, immediately call Customer Care at (800) 668-5560. Note: More mes than not, drivetrain problems can be resolved with technical assistance over the phone.
