community through sponsoring Key Clubs for high school students, Builders Clubs for middle school students, and Aktion clubs for

adults with disabilities. We provide support to boy scout and girl scout troops and to various other

organizations in the community that serve children and families. Enjoy the pleasure of

being a part of this service.Kiwanis members don’t just do service—

they have fun. Members make new friends by being part of a club where they

attend meetings and participate in social events. Kiwanis clubs also provide excellent

networking opportunities for professionals. Members meet new people from all over their region and

the world through service projects, fundraising and attendance at district and international conventions.

Attend an introductory meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Cy-Fair Houston at the Hearthstone Country Club on October 7, 14, 21. Be our guest for lunch at 12:15, followed by an informative program. Adjournment is at 1:15.

What is Kiwanis? Kiwanis is an international service organization focused on changing the world one child and one community at a time. Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis club, no matter where in the world it’s located. Worldwide, members stage nearly 150,000 service projects and raise nearly US$100 million every year for communities, families and projects. In addition, Kiwanis members actively participate in many service projects in their home communities.

PARKING FOR THE STEEPLECHASE

BAYOU TRAILThe SCIA is pleased with the response to the

Steeplechase 1-mile loop trail along the bayou. Many users walk to the trail and some drive. For those of you that drive, the Association wants to remind you that parking on the greenbelt is not allowed. As such, the Association is asking those of you who drive to please park along Yearling Drive. Do not pull into the lift-station access drive and do not park on the greenbelt or in the access drive.

The SCIA is considering plans to assist with parking and those plans will be shared in the newsletter as soon as finalized.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

Steeplechase is fortunate to have sidewalks throughout that make it safe to walk, run, exercise etc. without worrying about dodging parked vehicles, cars coming down the street, etc. However, there are obstacles to using the sidewalks; for example, low hanging tree branches, unkempt bushes, etc... Homeowners and renters, please trim your plants so that the full width of the sidewalk is passable and provides a 7’ to 8’ height clearance for pedestrians. Likewise, your trees should be trimmed to provide adequate clearance for cars and trucks traveling or parking on the street. Thanks for your cooperation.

If you have any questions or comments, direct them to Stacy Johnston at [email protected].
