WHAT? A free, family evening of delicious Texas-style BBQ, outdoor movie and urban camping.
WHEN? Starting Friday, October 24th at 6pm until Saturday, October 25th 8am.
Dinner starts at 6:30 - It’s first come, first serve and it’s going to go FAST! We are lucky to be enjoying mouthwatering BBQ by “Don’t Have a Clue” master Kenny Christ. Kenny and his family team have over 30 years of award winning ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. Just this year alone they have three 1st place titles and three “Best Overall” Championships! YUM!!
Movie approximately 7:30p – 9:30p Camping from nightfall until dawn Saturday.
WHO? All Steeplechase residents and their families—That’s you! Stay the whole night, “dine and dash”, or just join us for the movie, whatever you like… it’s all free and all fun.
WHY? Our neighborhood will be infused with exuberance, stronger community partnerships, and increased safety, as those are the goals of a National Night Out event. http://nno.org. Also if you’re like us you know the outdoors are beautiful and free events rock!
WHERE? Steeplechase clubhouse lawn and adjacent green lawn spaces. Parking is limited, so promote the “greenness” by walking, biking, and carpooling!
WHAT DO I BRING? You are welcome to bring frisbees, soccer/footballs, your own food (NO propane grills or open flames), all personal camping equipment (chairs, blankets, etc.),
and anything that would be allowed at a family friendly event! Please leave your personal wildlife at home, i.e.-NO pets.
THERE’S STILL TIME: To volunteer- this event hungers for your participation. Be a volunteer and help make this night amazing for your neighbors and family!
To sponsor- if you have contacts at local businesses or are a business owner, you can help out by sponsoring some of the goodness!
To register- you can preregister your tent/camping group and get a great spot! Also, we will need to keep a record of people sleeping overnight for safety reasons.
Contact the event coordinators at [email protected] or 832-518-7879 for any questions and to get involved. We thank you!
MARK YOUR CALENDAR! Set multiple fail safe reminders on your phone! You will feel sad if you miss this!! We look forward to seeing all ya’ll there!

PARKING FOR THE STEEPLECHASE
BAYOU TRAILThe SCIA is pleased with the response to the
Steeplechase 1-mile loop trail along the bayou. Many users walk to the trail and some drive. For those of you that drive, the Association wants to remind you that parking on the greenbelt is not allowed. As such, the Association is asking those of you who drive to please park along Yearling Drive. Do not pull into the lift-station access drive and do not park on the greenbelt or in the access drive.
The SCIA is considering plans to assist with parking and those plans will be shared in the newsletter as soon as finalized.
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
Steeplechase is fortunate to have sidewalks throughout that make it safe to walk, run, exercise etc. without worrying about dodging parked vehicles, cars coming down the street, etc. However, there are obstacles to using the sidewalks; for example, low hanging tree branches, unkempt bushes, etc... Homeowners and renters, please trim your plants so that the full width of the sidewalk is passable and provides a 7’ to 8’ height clearance for pedestrians. Likewise, your trees should be trimmed to provide adequate clearance for cars and trucks traveling or parking on the street. Thanks for your cooperation.
If you have any questions or comments, direct them to Stacy Johnston at [email protected].
