TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
Dates
Wednesday, November 19th – Saturday, November 22nd
Site SPAR Aquatic Center – Sulphur
Admission Admission price to the meet is $10.00 per day per person. Coaches will be
admitted free upon presenting their LHSAA Coaching Card.
Each team shall be permitted a maximum of four (4) entries in an individual
event and one (l) team in a relay event.
A competitor shall be permitted to enter a maximum of 4 events, no more than 2 of which shall be individual events. Being designated as a member of a relay team does not count as an entry unless the competitor actually competes in the event.
A competitor officially becomes a participant in an individual event when the official entry form, properly completed, is submitted to the Meet Entry Chairman
postmarked (certified mail) on or prior to the November 10 deadline. All alternates for individual events must be listed for that event. All alternates listed must also list qualifying times for that event. In relay events, up to 8 individuals may be designated, and it shall not count as an entry unless the competitor actually competes in the relay event.
Qualifying for Finals
All contestants qualify for the finals according to time and place in their preliminary heat. The eight fastest times in each event will move to the finals. The next eight fastest times will move to the consolation finals. There will be two alternates for the consolation finals.
NOTE: All 500 yard freestyles will be time finals, except for the fastest heat
which will be swam in finals. Please report all scratches prior to race time to
insure full heats. Any individual swimmer, who does not achieve the
qualifying time in the preliminaries or the finals in an event, may not score
points in that event in the state meet.
Entry Fee
There will be an entry fee of $15.00 for each contestant & alternate listed on the entry blank. Enclosed are copies of entry forms that you should use for every entry in each event entered. Make all checks payable to the LHSAA.
Failure to Meet Deadline Date
Schools that fail to meet established deadline dates for entries in state events shall be fined fifty dollars ($50) per entry up to a maximum of one hundred dollars ($100). Late entries will be accepted in writing with the entry fee and the fine up to the time of the seeding meeting or heat seeding by the meet director for that sport. No entries may be accepted after the start of the seeding or heat meeting of each sport.

Entry Blank Each team must use a separate entry blank for the boys' and girls' team entry. The
entry blank must show the first and last name and grade of each competitor. All
entry blanks must be typed or printed neatly and postmarked no later than Monday,
November 10, 2014. Entry blanks can be found on the LHSAA website (lhsaa.org) under SPORTS, BOYS/GIRLS SWIMMING, RELATED FORMS & DOWNLOADS.

ALSO: All Coaches are to send a copy of the entry form along with a Hytek
file (if used) by email to: [email protected]. Please make sure that the
information on the email matches the paper entry submitted to LHSAA.
A check in the amount of $15.00 per competitor & alternate listed (regardless of the number of events entered) and made payable to the LHSAA must accompany the entry blank. This will be a computerized meet. It is not necessary to send entry cards. Additional entry blanks may be accessed on the LHSAA website (see instructions on title page).
ALL ENTRY FORMS MUST BE SIGNED BY THE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL &
COACH.
Coaches’ Pickup & Team Pass Information Coaches may pick up packets on the day his/her team competes or any day of
the state meet prior to his/her competition. Each participant and alternate as
listed on your entry form will be given a pass to be used on the day your team
competes. This pass will be punched upon entering the facility. Those
athletes losing their pass must pay $8.00 to re-enter and will be issued
another pass.
Rules The 2014-15 Swimming and Diving Rules, National Federation of State High School
Associations, will govern the conduct of the meet plus LHSAA Handbook rules pertaining to swimming and eligibility.
It is recommended that all swimmers on the team wear suits of identical color and pattern. Decent appearance is required. The coach must sign in with Gary Duhe, Director -LHSCA, prior to swimming events on their day of competition.
Conduct of coaches, participants and managers: Some areas will be restricted to coaches and swimmers. All participants and spectators must honor these areas.
SPECIAL RULES AT SPAR Aquatic Center: There will be no smoking allowed prior to or during the competition in any designated area for swimmers. This would include the entire pool deck and bleacher area. No food, ice chests, or glass containers are allowed anywhere on the pool deck, including the bleacher area. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on this property. Please display team banners on lines over seating area. No other posters are allowed in building.
Protests: Any protest of an event must be presented in writing (within 30 minutes following the conclusion of the event), to a member of the meet committee. These are the referee, meet director, two meet officials, and the LHSAA representative, who will be determined during warm-ups by the meet referee.
After a formal protest has been presented in writing (within 30 minutes following the conclusion of the event), the committee will meet and render a decision in writing to the coach of the school that has presented a protest. The committee's decision will be
final. The only protest that will be honored will be the misapplication of a rule. All officials' decisions are final and not subject to protest.
**NOTE: Relays must have each swimmers Name and Grade in school. All competition will be held at the deep end of the pool.
Diving There is no diving in this meet.
Composite All-Academic Team The presentation of the Exxon-Mobile Composite All-Academic Team will be
presented before each Preliminary.
Division IV will be presented at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19,
Division III at 3:45 on Wednesday, November 19,
Division II at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, November 21,and
Division I at 3:45 p.m. on Friday, November 21.

Media / Student Yearbook
Working Media Request for media credentials shall be submitted ONLINE at www.LHSAA.org.
Credential requests must be submitted by the sports editor/director.
School Yearbook/ Newspaper Personnel:
Request media credentials online by visiting the Media Credential link on the
LHSAA website
Submit a letter from the school principal, at least 3 calendar days prior to the
beginning of the tournament, requesting one tournament pass for a yearbook
and/or newspaper staff member with proper school identification
The purpose of the “School Yearbook/ Newspaper” credential is to permit a
complimentary entrance into the event for which the person is gathering
information.
Photos taken during an event may not be sold or used in any capacity outside of
the purpose(s) of their school’s yearbook and/or newspaper. The LHSAA has an
exclusive photography contract with Musemeche Photography.
The media credential may not be used by a parent or friend.
