Current Computer Modeling Projects at IRF-Kiruna Uses software built on the public FLASH software from University of
Chicago. Parallel, adaptive grid. Handles fluid (MHD) and particle (hybrid and DSMC) simulations. Uses the Akka cluster with 5376 cores at the High Performance Computing Center North (HPC2N) in Umeå
Hybrid model of Mars-solar wind interaction under development. Will take part in the second ISSI meeting on Intercomparison of Global
Models and Measurements of the Martian Plasma Environment An XMM-Newton proposal for observing Mars in November 2009 has
been accepted. This will be the first time that the Mars-solar wind interaction is imaged in soft X-rays with simultaneous in-situ plasma measurements (by ASPERA-3 on Mars Express). With upstreams conditions known, it will be possible to model the X-ray production
Moon hybrid modeling. Will be used to interpret the observations of SARA on Chandrayaan-1.
