We have done great things!!! Our students have done great things!!!
We have done great things!!!Our students have done great
things!!!
So Where do we go from here?We need to consider:
What are we missing?
How can our students continue to improve?
How can we improve?
What data have we not considered?
One of our answers is STAR
CHART!
What is a
STaR
Chart
Anyway?
STaR Chart is . . . . A way for the state to measure its progress in meeting
technology goals.
A way for districts to measure their progress in meeting technology goals.
A way for campuses to measure their progress in meeting technology goals!
A way for YOU to measure YOUR progress in meeting technology goals!!!
What we will learn today: What we need to know about STaR Chart and its four
parts
What areas we need to improve for our future growth
Teaching and Learning This is a reflection on how frequently we use
technology and how our students master and use technology.
So how are we doing?
We have been labeled Developing Tech for three years.
The ratings are Early (6-8), Developing (9-14), Advanced (15-20), and Target (21-24).
This year our numbers went from 14 to 13.
Educator Preparation and Development This area measures our opportunities and level of
professional development in technology.
OH NO! How are we doing in this category?
We have been labeled Developing Tech.
This year our numbers went from a 13 to a 14!
Leadership and Instructional Support This area measures everything from our budgeting and
support for online learning to our vision and planning.
At this point, I’m afraid to ask! How are we doing?
We have NOT been Developing Tech!
We have been ADVANCED TECH!!
Infrastructure for Technology This area measures our availability of everything from
internet access and technical support to computers per student.
How are we doing?
We have had varied results.
We were advanced but are now back to Developing Tech.
What does it mean for our campus?
This means . . .FIRST KNOW: we are right where the
rest of the state is at this moment. We can use this information to change our CIP.
We can use this information to focus on changes we can make to help our students have a better education!

We need to think about How can we use technology?
How can we learn about technology?
How can we help our students learn through technology?
What do we need to make it happen?
