PURPOSE OF TEXAS STAR CHART Designed to help teachers, campuses, and

districts determine their progress toward meeting the goals of the Long Range Plan for Technology

Enables teachers to see what Texas’ expectations for technology and instruction

Self-assess personal progress toward meeting expectations

Helps teachers plan professional development

Helps teachers plan integration of technology into their curricular area.

PURPOSE OF TEXAS STAR CHART Meets the technology requirements for No

Child Left Behind, Title II, Part D and Texas requirements: Texas

TEKS for secondary courses all have technology expectations

K – 8 technology TEKS must be taught All teachers must be technology literate Technology application textbooks are available for

adoption NCLB:

All students will be technology literate by 8th grade All teachers must be technology literate

CONCLUSION Lake Highlands has either grown or

stayed the same since last year All categories were Advanced Tech Advanced Tech has been achieved the

last 3 years in Educator Preparation and Development and Leadership, Admin., Instructional Support

Improvements needs to continue so that each area reaches the state Target score
