THE BOOK OF DANIEL REVEALS HOW TO
STAND IN THE LAST DAYS
10 “Declaring the end from thebeginning, and from ancient timesthe things that are not yet done,saying, My counsel shall stand,and I will do all my pleasure.”
Daniel 1:1
In the third year of the reign of
Jehoiakim king of Judah,
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon
came to Jerusalem and besieged it.
God rules the Nations
2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakimking of Judah into his hand, withsome of the vessels of the houseof God. And he brought them tothe land of Shinar, to the house ofhis god, and placed the vessels inthe treasury of his god.
Daniel 1:3
Then the king commanded
Ashpenaz, his chief eunuch, to bring
some of the people of Israel, both of the royal family and of
the nobility,
Youth of Excellent Standing
4 Youths without blemish, of goodappearance and skillful in allwisdom, endowed withknowledge,understandingLearning, and competent to standin the king's palace, and toteach them the literatureand language of theChaldeans.
In spite of Babylonians trainings & influence , they manage to set
apart themselves to continue to please the Lord in their lives
Daniel 1:6Among these were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariahof the tribe of Judah.
Proverbs 22:29Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.
Stand out to Excel for a reason
Daniel & Friends in spite being a prisoner did not chose to stand in depression or discouragement but chose to stand out to excel in every training to exalt the name of God.
Later Acknowledged
3 Then this Daniel becamedistinguished above all the otherhigh officials and satraps, becausean excellent spirit was in him. Andthe king planned to set him overthe whole kingdom.
Luke 2:52
And Jesus increased in
wisdom and in stature and in favor with God
and man.

The Armor to Stand Firm
13 Therefore take up the wholearmor of God, that you may beable to withstand in the evil day,and having done all, to stand firm.
Babylonian Names
7 And the chief of the eunuchsgave them names: Daniel he calledBelteshazzar, Hananiah he calledShadrach, Mishael he calledMeshach, and Azariah he calledAbednego.

Stand out to obey God’s word
8 But Daniel resolved that hewould not defile himself with theking's food, or with the wine thathe drank. Therefore he asked thechief of the eunuchs to allow himnot to defile himself.9 And God gave Daniel favor andcompassion in the sight of thechief of the eunuchs,
NO COMPROMISE IN SPITE OF OPPORTUNITY
The TEST
12 "Test your servants for tendays; let us be given vegetables toeat and water to drink.
15 At the end of ten days it wasseen that they were better inappearance and fatter in fleshthan all the youths who ate theking's food.

Speaks of a set apart life for Christ and meditation on God’s word that makes a person consecrated
before God.

Know the Stand of Christ in life
Talking with the King
19 And the king spoke with them,and among all of them none wasfound like Daniel, Hananiah,Mishael, and Azariah. Thereforethey stood before the king.20 And in every matter of wisdomand understanding about whichthe king inquired of them, hefound them ten times better thanall the magicians and enchantersthat were in all hiskingdom.
The Question
How was Daniel & Friends able to stand in the presence of the King and
talked to him in wisdom and knowledge without any experience in
kingdom service ?
Standing in the Presence of the Most
High God
Daniel & Friends learned to stand in the presence of God everyday that
gave them wisdom and knowledge to stand in front of Nebuchadnezzar
