STAINLESS STEEL DUPLEX ROPE Stainless Steel DUPLEX ROPE Characteristics of the KOS DUPLEX ROPE DUPLEX Standard steel chemical requirements • High Breaking Force (The breaking force shall be specified as a minimum breaking force only) - KOS Duplex Wire Rope meets most of the international standards and customized specifications for individual customers. - Breaking force higher than international standards can be provided upon request (Approx 20% higher than AISI 304 grade) • High resistance against pitting and crevice corrosion - Pitting resistance of KOS Duplex Wire Rope is approx. 30% higher than AISI 316 grade. - Better crevice corrosion resistance than that of Austenitic grade in similar working condition. (No crevice corrosion up to 1,000ppm of Chlorine). • High resistance against stress corrosoin cracking - Compared with Austenitic grade, KOS Duplex Rope withstands more than 100°C elevated temperature in similar working condition. • Extra bright and clean surface. • Chemical composition (Wt.Pct.) • SCC resistance in oxygen-bearing (abt.8 ppm) neutral chloride solutions• Testing time 1000hrs• Applied stress equal to yield strength at testing temperature
Test Condition: ASTM B 117 TEST(Accelerated test with H202 15%)• Duplex 2205 shows excellent corrosive resistance when used alone• Be cautious for Galvanic Corrosion when you use it together with other grade of steel.
• Wire tensile strength grades for individual wire.
• Minimum breaking force
• Higher tensile strength available upon request
• Table above is based on DIN EN 12385-4 and applicable to other international specs.ROPE GRADE 2300 specification is a new and high breaking strength product developed by KOS
