HOMER – An Odysseus son purchased from Canes Deer to replace Othello. Due to a change in

direction from English park to Pure Woburn, Homer became surplus to requirement. His one crop

of fawns looked very promising and Canes Deer purchased him back from us in 2014.

Dear Fellow Deer Farmers,

Another year has rolled over, it just seems to get quicker as

more go by! Here at Sarnia we have carried on developing

our Woburn herd with the purchase of an extraordinary

young sire we have named Solway, and key Woburn dams.

This is our last sale for our traditional Sarnia English Park

Mix. The transition from this breeding to Pure Woburn has

been a steep but rewarding curve. Part of this development

is the switch to selling 2 year pure Woburn sires as from

next season.

Our offering this year includes the last 3yr sons of Othello,

Homer and Porthos and the first son of Pendragon that we

have put up. The small offering of 2yr stags include two

great sons of Castor and two more Pendragon sons.

Further to this we are offering two of our pure Woburn sires.

As part of the development of the herd we have used

Herbrand’s son, Haywood extensively. This blood line has

been continued through the purchase of Solway, so

Pendragon is no longer required for stud services here.

Bomphur, a huge antlered Aztec son going back to

Windermere's dam Y500, is also being offered for sale. Last

year he put up 48 points and this year we are hoping for

over 50 points.

We are also putting up a lovely selection of 1year Woburn X

hinds. Their Sire Duke Robin is ex Stanfield back to some

very reliable English Park dams.

Live weights recorded in this catalogue were current at the

dates posted but updated weights will be available on sale

day.

Next year will be our first full offering of pure Woburn stags

and hinds, with the first yearling hinds from super sire

Solway available.

1. The sale will be conducted by PGG

Wrightson with the conditions of sale as set

down by the Stock and Stations Agents

Association, a copy of which is exhibited in the

office on sale day.

2. Each lot becomes the purchaser's

property and risk at the fall of the hammer.

3. Insurance facilities will be available at

the Sale .

4. Terms are strictly cash unless prior

arrangements are made with the auctioneers.

Accounts not paid within 14 days of sale shall

bear interest, at current rate per annum from the

date of sale.

5. The sale is conducted exclusive of GST.

recognised independent agents introducing

and accompanying purchasers to the sale

providing prior arrangements [no later that

11. NO velvet will be grown out all stags to

be delivered or collected no later than mid

January 2017.

12.Please note that while all stock are

guaranteed under a general replacement or

credit type policy. No liability will be accepted

by Sarnia Deer and/or its agents for any loss of

production due to a Stags inability to Sire

progeny. It is therefore highly recommended

that all new purchased Stags are semen tested

prior to being used as a Sire and a backup stag

is used as part of your mating programme.

Bomphur is a huge antlered young sire. Bred at Windermere, heshows similar traits to his sire Aztec. His granddam, Y900 is a superstar and full sister to Kane and Hector. At 4yrs Bomphur put up amassive 48 point head and this year it looks to be a lot bigger. Hewas used last year as a sire at Sarnia and looks to have served everyhind he had. Homer was purchased as a replacement for Othello from Canes Deer in

2012. His spiker sons were incredible for consistency and Canes Deer

bought him back from Sarnia in 2014. Homer’s mass bought together here

with a Big Mac/ Jamieson combo if phenomenal.
