Practical 1: a Jigsaw Modelling Exercise
Prior Experiential Learning Model (PEL)
•In groups look at the PEL process outline
•Using the cards provided, put together a
model of the system

PEL >
•A student submits a claim for PEL to cover a module on their
Award
•A lecturer acting as the PEL expert meets with the student to
check the claimed experience is sufficient match to the Learning
Outcomes
•If it is, the claim is then passed to the University PEL committee
•The PEL committee then decide if the claim is acceptable
•If it is, the accreditation is then recorded in the Student Record
System by Faculty admin
