World Cup Inspired Cocktails
The World Cup is underway. The lucky will spend the time of their lives at one of the many stadiums in
Brazil. The rest of the world will find a local bar, or the comfort of their own couch to watch one of the
great sporting events on the planet. While you watch the action unfold, try one of these World Cup-
inspired cocktails and enjoy the beautiful game.
As part of Bloomberg Television's special coverage of the 2014 F IFA World Cup, "The Road to Rio,"
Bloomberg's Erik Schatzker traveled down to Brazil to get a firsthand look at how the largest South
American country is prepared or not prepared for the games and the economic impact one of the

Manuel's Homeland Mélange
Recipe courtesy of Jägermeister
"Spain may be the top-ranked team, but it's Germany who's a lot of fans cheering. Don the team's
colors of red, yellow and black, and raise a glass for keeper Manuel Neuer. Prost! "
2 oz Jägermeister
¼ oz simple syrup
10 mint leaves
3 lemon wedges
Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain. Garnish with mint leaves and lemon
wedges
American Harve st Caipiroska

"Put on your best stars and str ipes and applaud one of the greatest soccer players in American
History, the USA team captain Clint Dempsey. Honor the Brazilian's native cocktail with an American
twist: the Caipiroska! "
2 oz American Harvest
1 tsp sugar
2 large lime wedges
Crushed ice
In a shaker, muddle the limes and the sugar. Add the American Harvest and cracked ice cubes.
Shake briefly to chill the drink and pour the shaker's contents in the glass.

watch parties, and easily explore São Paulo after the games. Sports lovers will be knee-deep in the
2014 World Cup action and can even experience the "spirit of soccer in a glass".
Beginning this week, the hotel's Canvas Bar and Restaurant will be rolling out a specially prepared
World Cup themed culinary and craft cocktail menu. For instance, Canvas Bar bartender Rodman
Paixão, has developed the Hexa cocktail, made with lychee, basil, rum and Midori Liquor, representing
"the hope and confidence that Brazil will take home their 6th World Cup win."
Garnish: 1 Stick Cucumber, 1 Stick Celery, 2 Green Olives
Add ingredients to an iced mixing glass. Gently "roll" the contents back and forth between the mixer
tin and the glass a few times and then strain into an iced highball or collins glass.

Rivals Waterfront Sports Grille at The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, FL has partnered
up with Veev, the organic Acai spirit and is celebrating the World Cup in appropriate fashion, with
cocktails named for the major team's star players. Each will be served in custom-branded mason jars

1 oz. of Bacardi Rum
Lemongrass bush tea
Brown sugar
Dash of Midori liquor
1 oz of Pineapple juice
Carbonated with 1 oz. of sparkling wine
Ingredients can be shaken with ice and strained into a martini glass and then topped with thesparkling wine or can be served in a high ball on the rocks. Garnish with a slice of pineapple.
