Did you HEAR? We were on the Radio!
We recently were recognized for our excellence on the Catholic School Spirit Show. If you missed our
program that featured administrators, STA students, parents, alumni, and the pastor, you can hear the
podcast at www.catholicschoolspirit.org. One feature of the program was, “Are you smarter than a
St. Thomas fifth grader?” You can hear the student Gospel Choir, too.
The show’s host, Bill McNamee, is in the business of helping people save money on their mortgage and
other debts so that they can more easily afford a Catholic education for their children. Please consider
talking to him to see if he can help you save money. He may be able to make a meaningful difference for
you and your family. He can help you finance a new home closer to our school as well. Here is his contact
We won the Race for Education for a third year in a row! Thanks to the generosity of parents and grandparents, friends, neighbors and members of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, STA crossed the Race for Education’s finish line in style, raising $23,170 and surpassing last year’s total of $20,250! Donations flowed in during the weeks prior to and even after our Race held on May 29rd. Students enjoyed their jaunt around Stagg Field at the University of Chicago. Kudos to event coordinators, Marcella Wheatley assisted by Raquel Irvin and a team of volunteers who set the winning pace! Many helping hands have been instrumental in making this fundraiser a huge success with a tremendous profit-margin. And yes, we will do it again in 2016. The Race
is on for funds to support the purchase of more technology for our school.
