Although most of us enjoy a standard of living that is comfortable and se- cure, there are many among us, who for a variety of reasons live in poverty. St. Mother Teresa reminds us that; “Hunger is not only for a piece of bread but for love. Homelessness is not only not having a home, but also about being rejected and unwanted. You can be the change by finding ways for simple acts of kindness. HERE ARE SOME THINGS TO TRY TO DO IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE: treat others in a just, equitable and unbiased manner. I will play by the rules, take turns and share. I will be respectful of others in my family, school and parish communi- ties. I will seek peaceful solutions to problems. I will be a peacemaker in my school, in my workplace I am forgiving I follow rules and do my share. I will stand up for what is right. I respect and protect the world and all that is in it. Prayer for Justice, Oh God, help us to always see those around us with loving and compassion- ate eyes. If they need us, help us to reach out to them. May we always work towards breaking down the barriers that make people feel alone. In show- ing kindness and care to each other we will make a difference; we will be demonstrating our love for you. We will work at making our world a more just place to live. We make this prayer in your name, Jesus. Amen.

April—Virtue of the Month is JUSTICE
The Virtue of the Month for April is JUSTICE.
Although most of us enjoy a standard of living that is comfortable and se-
cure, there are many among us, who for a variety of reasons live in poverty.
And there are many more whose lives are in the balance between
fulfillment and indignity. We often question where is the justice in this in our
world?
St. Mother Teresa reminds us that;
“Hunger is not only for a piece of bread but for love.
Homelessness is not only not having a home, but also about being rejected
and unwanted. Loneliness is a greater burden than hunger.”
Whenever and wherever you can try to be kind, inclusive, loving and helpful
to those around you. You can be the change by finding ways for simple acts
of kindness.
HERE ARE SOME THINGS TO TRY TO DO IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE:
treat others in a just, equitable and unbiased manner.
I will play by the rules, take turns and share.
I will be respectful of others in my family, school and parish communi-
ties.
I will seek peaceful solutions to problems.
I will be a peacemaker in my school, in my workplace
I am forgiving
I follow rules and do my share.
I will stand up for what is right.
I respect and protect the world and all that is in it.
Prayer for Justice,
Oh God, help us to always see those around us with loving and compassion-
ate eyes. If they need us, help us to reach out to them. May we always work
towards breaking down the barriers that make people feel alone. In show-
ing kindness and care to each other we will make a
difference; we will be demonstrating our love for you.
We will work at making our world a more just place to
live. We make this prayer in your name, Jesus. Amen.

One of our greatest priorities is ensuring that all our
students arrive safely to school each and every day.
To enhance our existing absence-checking procedure TCDSB has introduced a new, more
efficient student absence reporting system called
SafeArrival. This new system will reduce the time it
takes to verify student attendance, making it easy for
you to report your child’s absence and easy for staff
to respond to
unreported student absences. With SafeArrival, you
are asked to report your child’s absence in advance
using any of these 3 convenient methods:
Using your mobile device, download and install
the SchoolMessenger app from the Apple App
Store or the Google Play Store (or from the links
at https://go.schoolmessenger.com). The first
time you use the app, select Sign Up to create
your account. Select Attendance then Report
an Absence.
Use the SafeArrival website,
https://go.schoolmessenger.com. The first time
you use the website, select Sign Up to create
your account. Select Attendance then Report
an Absence.
Call the toll-free number 1 (833) 251-3286 to report
an absence using the automated phone
system.
These options are available 24 hours/day, 7 days a
week. Future absences can be reported at any time
up to a maximum of 10 consecutive days. It is
important to note that when setting up your account,
you must register using the email address and phone
number associated with your child’s Trillium account.
In addition, schools will use the SchoolMessenger
Communicate automated notification system to
contact parents whose child is absent when the
absence was not reported in advance. The
automated notification system will attempt to contact
parents at multiple contact points until a reason is
submitted for the absence. If our system is unable to
