HOLY COMMUNION TO THE HOSPITAL We have a great group of men and women who bring Holy Communion to patients at Memorial Hospital. They visit every day except Saturday. There is a list kept in the Hospital Chaplain’s office that should contain the names of all patients who are from St. Thomas the Apostle Parish. However, we have come across times when there is someone from St. Thomas Parish whose name is not listed.
When you or a family member is in Memorial Hospital, it is very important that you make sure on the admission forms that you let them know that you are Cath-olic and that you are from St. Thomas the Apostle Parish. Sometimes when admissions go through the Emergency Room, the patient’s religious affiliation is not listed. If you want to receive visits and/or the Eucharist while you are at Memorial Hospital, be sure the Admissions Office has your religious affiliation and you are listed under St. Thomas the Apostle Parish.
We certainly do not want to overlook anyone. Please help us make sure everyone who wants to be visited is listed under St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

SUMMER SCRIPTURE STUDY CALLED BY GOD Jesus says, "Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock." (Rev 3:20) How do you respond when God is knocking on your door? This study will look at how that question has been answered by key characters in scrip-ture: Moses, Jonah, Ruth, Isiah, the First Disciples, Saul, and Lazarus. How did they respond to God's call? And what lessons can we apply to our lives today? When: Wednesdays, Star ted May 10th and continuing through June 28th. Time and Place: 7:00pm, 2nd floor in the parish office complex. For information, call or text Dave Gauthier, 228-596-8835. No registration is necessary. Plan on attending any or all of the sessions.
LITURGICAL DANCERS FUNDRAISER The Our Lady of Lavang Marian Liturgical Danc-ers (Vietnamese teens in the Diocese of Biloxi), have per-formed the liturgical dances at our annual Diocesan Ro-sary Rally and have also performed the traditional Viet-namese dances at other charitable events in the dio-cese. They have entertained us several times with their beautiful dances at our St. Thomas' Annual Senior Citi-zens' Dinner. They have never been to Disney World and would like very much to go there this June. They and Sis-ter Cecilia and Sister Mary are making the Sisters' famous Vietnamese egg-rolls to raise funds to help them pay for part of their Disney's trip. They are selling 1 frozen bag of 20 egg-rolls for $20. If you would like to order some egg-rolls to sup-port these young ladies and help them get to Disney World, please contact Sister Cecilia at (228) 243-0947 or email: [email protected]. Thank you in advance for you support and generosity.
For tickets, please contact: Michelle Eleuterius (228) 697-8943 or

A QUESTION OF FAITH It is never a question with any of us of faith or no faith; the question always is, “In what or in whom do I put my faith?” —Anonymous
HURRICANE PRAYER
O Heavenly Father, all the elements of nature obey your command.
Calm the storms that threaten us and turn our fear into praise of Your goodness.
Protect us from hurricanes and disasters of nature. We Pray through Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and
reigns with you through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen
BACKGROUND ON THE BISHOP’S FORMAL ATTIRE During the installation of our new Bishop, several of the insignias of his office were discussed. Here are more:
RING The Pope and the Bishop wear a ring on the fourth finger of the right hand. They are a symbol of their authority and also of faith and fidelity. The ring first appeared in the 3rd century and by the 5th century, was part of the bishop’s badge of authority. As time went on, the ring became a symbol of the bishop’s marriage to the church and his spiritual fatherhood over the faithful of his dio-cese.
