American Sign Language ASL1

The program will be of interest to those who wish to develop sign language concepts and use basic American Sign Language skills. Students will learn abstract concepts dealing with the environment outside of the classroom. This program will give graduates sufficient skills o enable them to communicate, at a basic level, with members of the non-hearing community in a variety of situations.

Mental Health for children and teens has never been more complicated and more of a concern than it is today. Professionals, parents and caregivers often feel overwhelmed and unprepared for the struggles that children and youth are facing. This online course will review mental health challenges that many children experience and the strategies to effectively manage the signs and symptoms of mental illness. This course will examine the short-term and long-term impacts of the COVID pandemic on child social, emotional and physical development as well as the impact on service delivery. Suicide risk assessment and suicide intervention skills will be discussed. Students will also explore techniques for building resiliency, increasing distress tolerance, effective advocating, self-care and providing family support.

This hands on interactive course covers welding safety, torch cutting, grinding, brazing, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and oxy fuel welding. This course is designed for people who would like to learn basic welding and welding career requirements and opportunities. Students will be given opportunity to practice welding, cutting, and bending of coupon plates for CWB weld testing using GMAW and SMAW processes. CSA approved work boots are mandatory.

Train your dog to be the best it can be! Course will cover all things that make your dog tick and how to deal with behaviour. Bring proof of all vaccinations including rabies, as well as collar and lead to the first class. First class is 6:30 – 8:30 for dog handler only. All remaining classes are 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. with your dog.
