2016-2017 Catholic Ministries Appeal CMA update as of December 13

Goal—$63,234

Pledged— $39,090 (49% of our goal) Did you know that you can make monthly credit card pay-ments for the CMA? Just mark the box “monthly install-ments through 5/31” on the CMA form and the payments will be made. You can also give online by going to www.dor.org or give to St. Theodore’s directly. Thank you to those who have given to this year’s appeal. Join our appeal and give back what you can so that we can remain strong and able to do God’s great work!

CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE PARISH

Did you know that you can make your

contributions online through your bank? If

you do online bill paying with your bank, add

St. Theodore’s Church as a payee. Use your envelope

number as your account number and let them know how

often to initiate a check. The bank will then send the

check right to St. Theodore’s and we will enter the contri-

butions in our computer just as if you put your envelope in

the collection basket. If you have any questions, please

call Leigh Ann in the parish office. If you make your contributions in cash, please make sure to use your envelopes (or any envelope with your name and envelope number on it) so that we can track your contributions for you. In the past we have had some parishioners audited by the IRS and unfortunately they did not use envelopes and we were unable to give them a listing of their contributions.

YOUTH/FAMILY MASS

SUNDAY, JANUARY 8, at 5:00 p.m.

FOLLOWED BY A POTLUCK DINNER

Our Youth Ministry Committee will be hosting a Youth/Family Mass on Sunday, January 8, at 5:00 p.m. This Mass will fulfill your Sunday obligation. Our guest presid-er and homilist will be Father Paul Bonacci. The homily will be geared towards children/teens and families. Teens will participate in liturgical roles and some will be singing with Rock of Faith, who will be leading the music. Our Sacred Movement Dancers will be part of the Communion Meditation. After Mass, there will be a Pot Luck Dinner in the Par-ish Hall. In order for us to have an assortment of food, last names beginning with A-G are asked to bring a dessert, H-R a main dish (pasta, chicken, soup, chili, mac and cheese), and S-Z a side dish (salad, vegeta-ble, fruit or rolls). If you plan on attending the dinner, please complete the form below and return it to the Faith Formation Office by Tuesday, January 3. If you have any questions or if you have a teen who would like to participate in the liturgy, contact Maureen Piehler at 429-5650 or [email protected]. We hope you and your family will join us for this special Mass and Dinner! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

UPCOMING YOUTH GATHERINGS

FOR GRADES 6-8

Friday, January 13, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. You will get a chance to hang out with your friends in the Recreation Room with a ping pong table, air hockey and foosball ta-bles, and our Gathering Room with sofas and chairs to sit and talk or play DDR (dance, dance revolution) or board games. Bring your friends! Parent volunteers are needed to help chaperone. If you are available, please contact Maureen at 429-5650 or [email protected].

FOR GRADES 8-12

Sunday, January 15, from 7:00 p.m. until Monday, January 16, 9:00 a.m. We will be having a Retreat en-titled "Humble and Kind" and a Lock-In. Parent volun-teers are needed to help chaperone this event. Flyers will be sent home with more information and a permission slip.

NCYC 2017

Would you consider sponsoring a teen? A couple of weeks ago we had an informational meeting for those interested in attending the National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis in November 2017. The registration fee per person has increased to $700.00; this does not include meals. Some families have two teens interested in attending and even though we are planning some fundraisers to help with the cost, I was hoping and praying that some parishioners would be in-terested in helping our teens to defray the cost by their financial assistance in sponsoring them. If you are inter-ested, please contact Maureen Piehler at 429-5650 or [email protected].

FOOD CUPBOARD CHRISTMAS ANGELS PROJECT A very warm “thank you” to all parishioners who participated in this project! We were able to pro-vide some much-needed toiletries, grocery store gift cards, and other requested items to 59 families. That means 76 adults, 43 children and 29 seniors will have a special Christmas because of you. Our parish is indeed blessed to have such a generous congregation. A special note of appreciation to the children in our Faith Formation program for collecting hats, gloves and scarves for these families.

Boxes to drop off your donations are in the main entrance of church and in front of the receptionist office. Please remember to rinse out your bottles and cans. Thank you for your support!
