Today we celebrate the triumph of the Lord. In the Gospel narrative that describes the empty tomb, other important images appear: the announcement of Mary Magdalene to Simon Peter and the other disciple and the impact of Christ's resurrection on apostolic life. Musicians should think about how they will sing the sequence ahead of time since it summarizes today's texts and is part of a unique tradition that shouldn't be lost. It works well to prepare well in advance of today and to include the assembly, which longs to joyfully celebrate the Lord's resurrection today.

From the Desk of Father Kurt
Dear Parishioners,
Easter has come this year the same time God chose to warm the earth with his sun. It is so nice to be able to go outside without a coat on, and feel the gentle breeze against your skin. The birds are chirping, the trees are budding and the flowers are starting to bloom. These signs of spring can help us understand the great mystery of God’s love for his people. Easter is God choosing to warm the earth with his Son. Jesus Christ’s Resurrection brings forth the radiance of God’s unconditional love and mercy, which renews the face of the earth, and brings forth new life.
However, just as the reminisce of winter remains even after spring has come, so to does sin still lurk in our world even after Jesus has conquered sin and death, with his resurrection. We must allow the new life of God’s grace within us to purify us of winter’s remains. God’s love can conquer all if we let him.
Happy Easter, Father Kurt Farrell

First Communion: Sunday, April 28th, our
Parish community will celebrate eighteen students ready to receive Jesus for the first time in the Eucharist. First Holy Communion will be celebrated at the 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses. As their parish family, we pray they continue to grow in love with Jesus Christ the living bread of life! May we also rekindle our own awe and love for Christ through their joy and excitement to receive the Lord!
Rite of Christian Initiation: During our Easter
Vigil service the following individuals will be received
into full communion with the Roman Catholic Church
after making a solemn Profession of Faith, celebrating
the Sacrament of Confirmation and sharing in the Holy
Eucharist: Shelby Alt, Kristin Bergdale, Alma Limon,
Gina Montero, Marco Montero and Guadalupe Perez.
We thank their sponsors, Godparents and RCIA instructors for their
gracious support. We pray they continue to grow to love the Lord as
they walk on their faith journey with Him.
