Dear Friends,
We have reached the end of the Easter season, our “week of Sundays” of reflection on the Easter mysteries of Christ’s resurrection and our Baptism. How appropriate that we conclude with a celebration of the coming of the Holy Spirit to our Church and to the world. May our prayer today and every day be one of gratitude for each of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
I am very pleased to announce that we are beginning a new outreach program here in the parish called H.O.P.E. – Helping Other People Everyday. This organization is a group of concerned parishioners who are willing to volunteer to help others. This is a service provided, for now, to Saint Robert parish members. Some services include meals, getting to Mass on Sundays, transportation to doctors appointments or the food store or simply a friendly visit. There are brochures at the doors of the church explaining the program and its offerings and limitations. Please pick up a copy and share it with fellow parishioners you feel might benefit from this service. We are excited to begin this parish outreach. Please help us by your prayerful support. Volunteers are always welcome! If you feel you would like to help with the program, please call the parish office and leave your contact information.
There is a lot of activity at Saint Joseph/Saint Robert School this week. Our Pre-K have their closing exercises on Monday, our Kindergarteners “graduate” on Tuesday, and our eighth grade have their Graduation Mass and Closing Exercises on Wednesday in church at 7PM. The entire school will gather for Mass on Friday at 9AM at which time the Promotion Ceremony will follow. It is so hard to believe that the end of the school year is upon us, yet it is such a wonderful feeling to have the summer and vacations to look forward to. I wish to take this opportunity to thank our principal, Mrs. Jaster, our faculty, staff and students and parents for another wonderful school year. Although there were challenges to be met and hurdles to overcome, it is always so great to be able to invite Jesus into the daily routine to assist in all things! That is the real treasure of a Catholic school! We are reminded of this each day as we enter the school building. In the school foyer is a sign that reads: “Be it known to all who enter here that CHRIST is the reason for this school. He is the unseen but ever present teacher in its classes. He is the model of its faculty and the inspiration of its students.” What a powerful mission statement!
This weekend our former Deacon Edisson, now Father Edisson Urrego, will celebrate his First Mass in the Church of Saint Ann in Clayton, North Carolina. Please keep Father Urrego in your prayers as he begins his new ministry as a Priest of Jesus Christ in the Diocese of Raleigh!
Just a reminder that beginning on Monday, June 12th we will have only one Mass celebrated in our chapel at 8AM Monday through Friday and Saturday morning at 9AM. This coming Monday will be the last Monday for Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until we resume this devotion in September.
Don’t forget to submit the names of your fathers, living and deceased, to be included in the daily prayers of your priests during the month of June. All the Masses on Father’s Day weekend will be offered for the intention of those names listed on the Remembrance envelopes.
May Saint Robert Bellarmine bless our parish as we gather under his patronage and protection!
With prayers,
Pentecost S

Join us on Tuesday, June 13th to recite the rosary together in honor of the
2nd apparition of our Lady at Fatima. We will gather at 7:00 PM in the
prayer garden at the Lady of Fatima Statue.
It was at this second apparition that Mary asked the children to pray the
rosary adding the following: “O my Jesus, forgive our sins, save from the fires
of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.”
FOCUS ON FAITH PENTECOST SUNDAY
Acts 2:1-11; 1 Corinthians 12:3b-7; 12-13; John 20:19-23
“Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.”
The Gospel today draws our attention to the reversal of the disciples’ fear to joy and
their transformation from frightened followers to apostolic witnesses. At the heart of this
amazing transformation are the presence of the Risen Lord and the giving of the Holy
Spirit. Through the sacrament of Confirmation we are sealed with the Holy Spirit.
It is the Spirit, “the soul’s most welcome guest,” who gives us the comfort, solace, light,
rest, healing, strength, guidance, and joys that we need to carry on his mission of peace, love and forgiveness.
May we witness with joy the love of the Jesus in our
families, parish, neighborhoods, workplace and the community!
