ST. PETER ARMENIAN CHURCH & YOUTH MINISTRIES’ CENTER
632 W. STOCKER ST. · GLENDALE, CA 91202
Jesus asked the Disciples, “Who do YOU say that I am?”
Peter responded “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living
God.”
Jesus promised the Keys to the Kingdom for this profession of
faith. (Mt 16) At
the St. Peter, Glendale Parish, our faith and actions are based
on that same pro-
fession of faith. It is the Key that opens the doors to our
journey as Christians...
From our Parish Priest...
Dear Parishioners This first week of October, in the Arme-nian
Church, is dedicated to the 72 Disciples of Christ (from Luke 10).
This week also signals the beginning of “National Domestic Violence
Awareness Month.” President Obama wrote this year, “For far too
long, domestic violence was ignored or treated as a private matter
where victims were left to suffer in silence without hope of
intervention… While government must do its part, all Americans can
play a role in ending domestic violence. Each of us can promote
healthy relationships, speak out when we see injustice in our
communities, stand with sur-vivors we know, and change attitudes
that perpetuate the cycle of abuse.” As the Christian Church, our
higher call-ing is from Christ. We are called to be His Body—his
feet, hands, embrace, compassion in this world. Where else can or
should we be but with those who are hurting? True to the lesson of
“discipleship” we each must embrace the message of Christ as
students, and live them out in our lives as disciples. Violence has
no place in any civilized society. Unfortunately, we are
conditioned to believe (by politics and world events) that violence
solves disputes and troubles. It does not. Violence Hurts. And…
Love Heals. Love Conquers. I call upon our parishioners to become
true “disciples” of Christ as our Armenian Church has directed us.
Let us see the hurting world, and specifically the families that
are destroyed by violence, and bring the Love of Christ to our
lives, our homes and world. -Fr. Vazken

Inspirational saying of the day Don’t be afraid of dying be
afraid of never living. Turn to the light and the shadows fall
be-
hind you. Don’t waste your time walking around the bottom of the
apple tree picking up the rotten ones and then throwing them away,
have the courage to climb to the top where the good ones are.
Students! Don’t be left behind.
