Reflecting on ourselves as members of the Church, perhaps we can ponder our value as witnesses. I recall a priest who shared how his niece told him that her teacher had said, “There is no God.” His response was, “That’s not true, I just talked with him this morning.” What a beautiful witness of faith and truth. That’s the encouragement we receive from our families, from the saints and down the ages. We form a procession of belief starting with those joyous souls who welcomed him to Jerusalem. We might pass through times of disappointment, shock or doubt at the pain of his Passion, but we come to our “senses” as we hear other witnesses speak of his Resurrection. They invite us to find Jesus, not among the dead, but among the living, because for God, “all are alive.” (Luke 20:38)

God bless you during your celebration of Holy Week and throughout the Easter Season. May we Rediscover Jesus in our celebration of his Passion and Resurrection.

With love and prayers, Father Bob Edwards

Father Bob’s Corner .

Dear Friends,

“Today we gather together to herald with the whole Church the beginning of the celebration of our Lord’s …Passion and Resurrection.” - Roman Missal

We reflect on the final week of our Lord’s life.

We await Easter and the proclamation of the Lord’s Resurrection, but we know we must pass with him through his Passion. The Lord’s Passion is just as much part of the Mystery as is the Resurrection. As members of the Church, as persons witnessing to Christ, we allow ourselves to be assimilated into the events of his whole life – even this last week.

During Holy Week we will celebrate the way the Lord has made us members of his Body. Since the days of the early Church our brothers and sisters in Christ have commemorated this week with special reverence, asking God to stir up within them grace to cherish the work the Lord accomplished for us. Holy Thursday, Good Friday (a day of fast & abstinence), the Holy Saturday anticipation of the Lord’s Resurrection and then the splendor of Easter Sunday – what lies in wait for us this year as we participate in these liturgies?

Encounter Our Neighbors We encounter Jesus this week in Jerusalem, a community he knew well. We prayerfully enter our own communities too, encountering those

who are hungry and thirsty, those who need our help. How does our Lenten journey motivate us to serve those we meet in our daily lives?

Please join us for the “Stations of the Cross” on Wednesday, March 28 at 12:15 pm.

“Mass of the Lord’s Supper”, will be on Holy Thursday; March 29th at 7:00 pm.
