In today's second reading we hear St. Paul tell us,
"Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evi-
dence of things not seen". He shares with us how
Abraham attests to this in three ways. He packs up
his family and belongings and journeys to a foreign
land. He believes that he and his wife Sarah, will
have a son even though his wife is sterile and he is
of old age. Abraham is even willing to follow God's
command to sacrifice his only son. All this solely on
the faith of God's Word that his descendants will be
as numerous as the stars in the sky and the sands
on the seashore.
Abraham trusted in God even when it put him and
his family at risk, or when things didn't seem logical.
Abraham's faith made God's promise a reality even
though, from a human perspective, it didn't make
sense. His faith gave him the hope which allowed
him to experience, during his life, the future things
he would not see.
St. Paul also tells us in the Letter to the Hebrews that many others throughout salvation history had similar faith experiences like Abraham. St. Paul con-tinues on to tell us it is now our turn to run the race. We need to have the faith to follow Christ’s teach-ings, then we will have our own place in salvation history and be able to experience life in God's King-dom.
! God Bless, Deacon Lou Libbi

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Is there a non-Catholic you know who has expressed interest in our faith and becoming a member of our
Church family… or, perhaps, is a baptized Catholic who has not completed their Sacraments of Initiation? If so, you can be an evangelizer by telling them of our parish’s RCIA process,
which offers catechesis and faith formation in preparation for the
Sacraments and initiation into the Catholic Church. Sister Eileen will be happy to give further information and
answer any questions about the RCIA. You can contact Sr. Eileen at 610-296-8899 or
