PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
We, the family of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Parish serving McKeesport, Versailles, Elizabeth Township, and the surrounding communities welcome all. Through mergers, we have become an
ethnically diverse parish. We strive to nurture our seniors, to challenge and empower our youth to continue our faith tradition,
and for all to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ. Strengthened by the liturgy and sacraments, we seek to educate in faith, minister to those in need, and extend hospitality to all, and contribute to the
spiritual and cultural life of our community.
St. Patrick Parish
Jocelyn, Peyton, Delaney, and Flo stand with the faithful as inter-cession of the saints is sought (left). Blessed Salt is mixed with water and then blessed prior to their baptisms.
ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA! The church was darkened except for the Light of Christ, shared by all the baptized present as the Ex-sultet, the Easter Proclamation, was sung. Virginia and Jerry Holmes, Mike Minyon, Pat Flaherty (right) and Linda Willrich (not shown) share in the Old Testament Proclamation before the Gloria was sung and the Book of Gospels was proc-essed in by Mike Minyon and received by Father Tom as the Alleluia was again sung.
Notes From Fr. Tom Where do I begin? That’s easy. I thank our God for pro-
viding us with the grace to enter more deeply into His shar-
ing of life for our sake. We have an awesome God!
Then I have to begin thanking the many people who
shared their gifts so freely in helping to make Lent, Holy
Week and the Triduum such opportunities of grace:
+ To Carolyn Gusik and the members of the choir who
put in a ton of extra time, especially Kay Bochicchio and
Natalie Baran who took on unfamiliar roles as Cantors; they
all truly heightened our liturgies;
+ To all the Lectors who made themselves available for
the special readings and practices which allowed the Scrip-
tures to come alive for us;
+ To the Ushers and Greeters who signed in and made
sure family and visitors were welcomed and cared for;
+ To the Eucharistic Ministers for their willingness to
bring what we celebrated alive in the sharing of the
Eucharist;
+ To our Altar Servers who did a fantastic job, as they
always do, during such solemn days (they made it very easy
for me);
+ To Janet and Howard Iacone for their wonderful work
as Masters of Ceremony Holy Thursday and during the
Easter Vigil;
+ To Robin and Mark Diperna who made sure that the
entire Lenten and Holy Week experience was visually
brought alive in their decorating our worship space — and
for the many who helped, especially on Good Friday as we
prepared for Easter;
+ To Mark Diperna for his restoring the Tabernacle
stand which now graces our sanctuary;
+ To Lena and her team who spent hours making sure
the altar cloths were perfectly ironed and placed for each
celebration;
+ To those who agreed to participate in the foot washing
Holy Thursday night — it carries special meaning for me to
be able to live that experience;
+ To the many who donated White Socks for our collec-
tion to help the Intersection and Operation Safety Net in
Pittsburgh — 750 pairs of socks were collected;
+ To Rosalie Carter who spends hours leading the RCIA
program, and those who walked with the newly baptized as
Godparents and sponsors since September;
+ To Donna Faix and Flo Dunst for sharing their sewing
skills in many ways;
+ To Rita McCusker who
helped with dinner for the priests
present for the communal Rec-
onciliation Service and who prepared the reception (with
help from Rosalie) for after the Easter Vigil;
+ To our Sue Wargo and Dave Hrubovcak for all their
extra work as we moved to the celebration of Easter (didn’t
the church floors look great?);
+ To all who helped clean the church before holy Week.
~~~~~~~~~~
I’m glad that Fr. Vince accepted our invitation and was
with us for the Triduum. It’s hard for a priest to simply step
back from these most important days, especially after leading
them for so many years. I’ve been there so I was glad he
joined us.
~~~~~~~~~~
I was asked about the footwashing on Holy Thursday.
Those involved included a mother and a baby, a third grader,
confirmation student, high school student and RCIA partici-
pant, middle-age and elderly — those who are involved in
ministry in union with Christ, and those to whom we should
provide ministry;

Please see the insert concerning this week’s Fraternity of
Priest Healing Mass. This is something that all of us should
plan to attend as we all need the healing of our Lord in some
way — spiritual, emotional or physical. We can also ask for
prayers for others who cannot be present. A teaching on the
Gifts of the Holy Spirit will be given at 6:45PM with Mass
beginning at 7:00PM. Prayers take place immediately after-
wards.
Love and prayers,
Fr. Tom
The new tabernacle and stand, gained from the diocese and restored through parishioner contributions, was blessed at the end of the Easter Vigil Holy Saturday night.

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY This Sunday, the 2nd Sunday of Easter, has been designated by our Holy
Father as Divine Mercy Sunday. This devotion to the Divine Mercy originated with St. F aus t i n a Ko wa l ska a n d increased in popularity, first in her native Poland and then in our own country. So this weekend, we will recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet prior to each mass. It is important to see God’s Divine Mercy as flowing from the Good Friday and Easter Sunday
salvation event, and not as something separate from it, and surely not superior to it. All are welcome to participate in this beautiful devotion.

The Sacraments of Initiation were com-pleted when Peyton, Delaney, Florence and Jonathan approached the altar and received the Eucharist for the first time, sharing the Body and Blood of Christ with the larger community of faith — the Body of Christ in the world today. We have been blessed by their witness of faith! Jonathan was baptized as an infant but had not received preparation for First Communion and Confirmation as a child. Therefore he entered into preparation as an adult.
The gift of Life in Jesus Christ is given in Baptism through the power
of the Holy Spirit to (l to r) Flo Dunst, Delaney Stajdunar, Peyton Stajdunar, and Jocelyn Orbin.
Left: Jonathan Dunst is prayed over
for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to come upon him, as was done with Flo, Delaney and Peyton, through the
Sacrament of Confirmation pictured below.
Jocelyn, not being confirmed, is anointed with Sacred Chrism after her baptism. She will now begin to prepare for her First Com-munion in a couple of years and con-firm her faith as an eighth grader.
