Nestled on the edge o the Atlantic Ocean, Haliax oers the best o two worlds: a rich history with close

connections to the sea, and a vibrant, young culture. As Nova Scotia’s capital, our cosmopolitan port city

is a major centre o the Maritimes and the largest city east o Quebec City and north o Boston.

The historic, tree-lined streets and unique architecture that

surround Saint Mary’s University make South End Haliax

a centre or urban diversity. From campus, you have easy

access to all amenities – everything is a walk, bike, bus or

erry ride away.

Haliax has something or everyone: an explosive music scene,

more than 450 amazing restaurants, and a variety o museums

and galleries or any taste. Experience hundreds o kilometres

o beaches and coastline and enjoy surng, rock climbing,

kayaking, skiing, hiking and more.

Throughout this book, you’ll nd these our special Augmented Reality

icons. When you see one, visit smutube.ca/getcloser and hold the icon up

to your webcam. You’ll automatically launch a video that explores one o the

topics on that page in more depth. It’s a more interactive way to get closer

One o the reasons Saint Mary’s students and graduates nd such a high rate o success is the

valuable relationships they build on campus with aculty and sta. Our proessors take the time to

get to know students and make an investment in their utures. It’s just one way that Saint Mary’s

can help you get closer to what you’re meant to be doing.

“At Saint Mary’s, most o the proessors ensure that they know you by name,

remain committed to meeting your needs to the best o their ability, oer

exibility outside o their arranged ofce hours, and, most  importantly, they

are approachable and welcoming.”   -Globe and Mail student ‘sound o’

Class sizes at Saint Mary’s are smaller than the national average or a reason. We believe in allowing
