AMELIA YOUNG ADULT BOOK CLUB The Amelia Branch Book Club for Young Adults will meet on
Thursday, March 22nd at 4:00 P.M. We will be discussing the
book “The One And Only Ivan,” by Katherine Applegate.
Having spent 27 years behind the glass walls of his
enclosure in a shopping mall, Ivan has grown
accustomed to humans watching him. He hardly ever
thinks about his life in the jungle. Instead, Ivan
occupies himself with television, his friends Stella and
Bob, and painting. But when he meets Ruby, a baby
elephant taken from the wild, he is forced to see
their home, and his art, through new eyes.

YOUNG ADULT BOOK CLUB
The Centerville Branch Young Adult Book Club will meet on
Tuesday, March 27th at 3:30 P.M. The title for discussion will
be “Forget Me Not,” by Ellie Terry.
Astronomy-loving Calliope June has Tourette syndrome, so she
sometimes makes faces or noises that she doesn't mean to make.
When she and her mother move yet again, she tries to hide her
TS. But it isn't long before the kids at her new school realize
she's different. Only Calliope's neighbor, who is also the popular
student body president, sees her as she truly is--an interesting
person and a good friend. But is he brave enough to take their
friendship public? As Calliope navigates school, she must also face
her mother's new relationship and the fact that they might be
moving--again--just as she starts to make friends
and finally accept her differences. Ellie Terry's
affecting debut will speak to a wide audience
about being true to oneself.
For more information or if you are interested in
joining please call 337-836-1717.

YOUNG READERS BOOK CLUB The Berwick Branch Book Club for Young Adults will meet on
Friday, March 23rd at 4:00 P.M. We will be discussing the book
“A Wrinkle In Time,” by Madeleine L’Engle.
It was a dark and stormy night; Meg Murry, her small
brother Charles Wallace, and her mother had come
down to the kitchen for a midnight snack when they
were upset by the arrival of a most disturbing
stranger. "Wild nights are my glory," the unearthly
stranger told them. "I just got caught in a downdraft
and blown off course. Let me sit down for a moment,
and then I'll be on my way. Speaking of ways, by the way, there is
such a thing as a tesseract." A tesseract is a wrinkle in time. To tell
more would rob the reader of the enjoyment of Miss L'Engle's
unusual book.
For more information or if you are interested in joining please call

ADULT BOOK CLUB The Berwick Branch Adult Book Club will meet on Thursday,
March 15th at 6:00 P.M. we will be discussing the book
“God’s In Alabama,” by Mindy Starns Clark.
For 10 years Arlene has kept her promises, and God
has kept His end of the bargain. Until now. When an
old schoolmate from Possett turns up at Arlene's
door in Chicago asking questions about Jim Beverly,
former quarterback and god of Possett High,
Arlene's break with her former hometown is forced
to an end. At the same time, Burr, her long-time
boyfriend, has raised an ultimatum: introduce him to
her family or consider him gone. Arlene loves him dearly but knows
her deeply racist Southern Baptist family will not understand her
relationship with an African American boyfriend. Reluctantly,
Arlene bows to the pressure, and she and Burr embark on the
long-avoided road trip back home.

CENTERVILLE BRANCH
ADULT BOOK CLUB The Centerville Branch Adult Book Club will meet on Wednesday,
March 21st at 10:30 A.M. The title for discussion will be
“Into The Water,” by Paula Hawkins.
A single mother turns up dead at the bottom of the
river that runs through town. Earlier in the summer,
a vulnerable teenage girl met the same fate. They
are not the first women lost to these dark waters,
but their deaths disturb the river and its history,
dredging up secrets long submerged. Left behind is
a lonely fifteen-year-old girl. Parentless and
friendless, she now finds herself in the care of her
mother's sister, a fearful stranger who has been dragged back to
the place she deliberately ran from--a place to which she vowed
she'd never return. Beware a calm surface--you never know what
lies beneath.
For more information or if you are interested in joining please
call 337-836-1717.
FRANKLIN BRANCH
ADULT BOOK CLUB
The Franklin Branch Adult Book Club will meet on March 8th at
4:15 P.M. The title for discussion will be “Broken Road to
Forever,” by L.K. Owen and Rhonda Dennis. Rhonda Dennis is a local
author and will be a guest speaker.
Brent and I overcame overwhelming odds. We
struggled and fought for our happily ever after, so
why do I find myself knee deep in laundry, bills, and
ungraded papers years afterwards? Why is he
distant and more worried about football plays for
his high school team than our happiness? Where
has the spark gone? The broken road of life hap-
pened, and it's painfully relentless. Is our journey
one even worth continuing? To better grasp our future, a visit to
our past is needed. Take a trip back to the 90s, and enjoy the story
of Mallory and Brent's high school shenanigans, their crazy college
days, and eventually, their journey into adulthood. The Broken Road
to Forever chronicles an emotional voyage across the decades as an
unconventional couple struggles to keep their love alive.
Our book club is presently at capacity. If you would like to add your
name to a waiting list, please call 337-828-5364.

March 15th at 5:30 P.M. The title for discussion will be
“A Man Called Ove” by Fredrik Backman.
Meet Ove. He has staunch principles, strict
routines, and a short fuse. People call him “the bitter
neighbor from hell.” But must Ove be bitter just
because he doesn’t walk around with a smile
plastered to his face all the time? One November
morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young
daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten
Ove’s mailbox. This is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming
tale. All of which will change one cranky old man and a local
residents’ association to their very foundations.

985-395-2777 or stop by the library.
