Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, Peace of Christ! We have begun the new month, the Month of November dedicated to all souls. In our Creed we pray that Christ will come again to judge the living and the dead and that “His kingdom will have no end.” In the Roman Catholic Church, the month of November is the tradional me to visit the graves of loved ones, as is the anniversary of their deaths. The Church established the month of November for the soul as a perpetual commemoraon in the 10th century, during the Dark Ages. As Catholics we celebrate the birth into eternal life of our beloved dead, the birthright of the Chrisan received. Let us remember to pray for our deceased family members Parishioners and forgoen souls and offer Masses for their souls. Jesus said to St. Fausna about the Divine Mercy for a soul and about confession, “There the greatest miracles take place and are incessantly repeated. It suffices to come with faith to the feet of my representave and to reveal to him one’s misery and the miracle of Divine Mercy will be fully demonstrated. Were a soul like a decaying corpse so that from a human standpoint there would be no hope of restoraon and everything would already be lost, it is not so with God. The miracle of Divine Mercy restores that soul in full. When you go to confession, know this, that I myself am waing for you in the confessional; I am only hidden by the priest, but myself act in the soul. Here the misery of the soul meets the God of Mercy. Tell souls that from this fount of mercy souls draw graces solely with the vessel of trust. If their trust is great there is no limit to my generosity.” (Diary of Saint Maria Fausna Kowalska (Mass market ver- sion): Divine Mercy in My Soul) May the souls of faithful departed through the Mercy of God rest in peace! To be the witness for His love, Fr. Jegan Office Notes Serving Those who Serve!
