She gifted us with a generous donation. Part of her gift was used to purchase the St. Joseph holy cards, created by a local artist. We will use them together to pray the Novena to St. Joseph starting Thursday, March 11 th . We continue to ask for St. Joseph’s intercession for our families and our parish. We invite you to join us to celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph with Mass on Friday, March 19 th at 7:00pm. We will be making a traditional Italian St. Joseph’s altar in the Lower Level of the church with drinks and fellowship following Mass. Pope Francis has named from the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, 2020 to
December 8, 2021, the Year of St. Joseph to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Blessed Pope Pius IX’s
declaration of St. Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church. The month of March is traditionally the
Month of St. Joseph as his feast falls on March 19th. As a parish, we are incorporating ways to celebrate
and honor St. Joseph throughout the month of March and the rest of the year.
We have moved the statue of St. Joseph to a more prominent spot in the church. At the end of Mass on
Sundays, we pray the Litany of St. Joseph together. Someone recently reached out to us (who found our
Mass via Livestream) to thank us for introducing her to the Litany of St. Joseph which she had never
prayed before. She gifted us with a generous donation. Part of her gift was used to purchase the
St. Joseph holy cards, created by a local artist. We will use them together to pray the Novena to
St. Joseph starting Thursday, March 11th. We continue to ask for St. Joseph’s intercession for our
families and our parish.
We invite you to join us to celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph with Mass on Friday, March 19th at 7:00pm.
We will be making a traditional Italian St. Joseph’s altar in the Lower Level of the church with drinks
and fellowship following Mass. Traditional St. Joseph altars are filled with candles, bread, flowers, wine,
fruit, meatless food, and prayer intentions. After prayer, when everyone had all they could eat, the rest
of the food was given to the poor! We plan to do the same. Feel free to bring food donations for
Neighborhood Services on March 19th.
We will be hosting a carpentry class to celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker sometime in May at
Our Lady of the Rosary. A skilled carpenter will walk us through making something beautiful out of
wood. Pre-registration will be required. More details to come, so stay tuned!

We, the spiritual family of St. Aloysius honor and value the diversity of our community. Through our worship of God, we joyfully commit ourselves to imitate the Good Shepherd. We serve our brothers and sisters when we comfort the lost, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, and welcome the stranger. Our service is rooted in our experience of God’s love, which calls us to be the Good News of Jesus in the downtown Detroit community.
